About
The Silverthorn Country Club golf course has earned its challenging 132 slope rating through a combination of rolling terrain, unpredictable Florida Gulf Coast winds, and no less than 96 strategically-placed bunkers. Joe Lee designed this course and it offers a mixture of wide-open links-style holes and tight, tree-lined fairways. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse offers a scenic vista of Silverthorn's championship golf course, surrounding lakes and splendid Florida sunsets. This classic blend of southern charm and golfing tradition will create wonderful memories for your golf trip to Brooksville

Average Condition
Course is normally in very good shape. Today not so much. Fairways were "furry". Greens had a lot of rough areas The speed green s was inconsistent. Sand traps were on the "firm side". Tough to hit explosion shots when the sand wedge bounces.
Pace of play was good.

Disgusted
Have played there many times over the past 10 years and really enjoyed it. Played there yesterday and totally disappointed. Fairways mostly sand had to continuously move ball to find grass. Greens have patches of clover growing in them. Bunkers were like hitting off pavement. Bunkers had grass and clover growing in them. Greens covered in pine needles, straw and leaves. Would not pay $5.00 for it. Will need to see a lot of improvement before going there again.

Pace was bad, too many people taking their sweet times and hitting 2 or 3 balls everytimes

Poor fairways
I play this course every week. The greens are ok. The fairways are not watered and it plays rough. Bunkers are mostly hard packed sand (pull my ball). Still though, it’s better then some other local courses. With my discounts, it’s worth it

Going down hill
Been playing this course for many years. Always great coarse and well taken care of. As of now with new owners they have gone downhill fast. There are literally no fairways with grass. Greens are full of broad leaf. Tee boxes are all sand. Doesn’t appear to be any effort to better the grounds at all. Would not recommend if looking for the course it once was. 👎

Once a year
Back in the nineteen hundreds (1900) this was a great place to play. The last 10 years it has become sad place to play. I, once a year, return hoping for the course to be resurrected . See you in 2023.

It is getting rough !!!!!!
We usually play this course about every other week and I am noticing a lack of maintenance. Some of the tee boxes have no grass on them. Greens are patchy and even the fairways are very patchy. I know this course gets a lot of play and their prices are more than fair but it is getting more difficult to recommend it to a friend.
