About
The Silverthorn Country Club golf course has earned its challenging 132 slope rating through a combination of rolling terrain, unpredictable Florida Gulf Coast winds, and no less than 96 strategically-placed bunkers. Joe Lee designed this course and it offers a mixture of wide-open links-style holes and tight, tree-lined fairways. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse offers a scenic vista of Silverthorn's championship golf course, surrounding lakes and splendid Florida sunsets. This classic blend of southern charm and golfing tradition will create wonderful memories for your golf trip to Brooksville

Needs work
Use to play this course a lot but in the last year it’s gone down hill. The greens were in great shape but the fairways on most holes were non existent. Our golf cart started to die on the 16th fairway but made it to the 18th tee box, well they say walking is good for you. I wouldn’t recommend the course at this time, it needs to much work.

Poor course Condition
Fairways , greens, and bunkers needs lots of work.

Course overall conditions
Beautiful layout and nice atmosphere. It could’ve been in better conditions. It won’t take much money to make this course look a lot better. Tee boxes need to be mowed, feels like you’re hitting from the rough using a tee. The fairways need to be reseeding. I would say that the greens are in good conditions and putting on them is no problem. Greens are so huge that in one occasion I thought I was about 20 yards off and by my surprise was still on it. It’s really a fun palace to play, too bad I live one hour away from it driving.
I will recommend this place to anyone.

Couple of the tees boxes are horrible, i understand being understaffed, but when the tee box look like a hill and no grass growing, well that's bad( hole 8 par 3)

Worse
Have played this course frequently over the past several months. The fairways this time were worse than I ever remember. Several looked like the sprinkler system was not operating properly. Greens were in reasonably good condition.

Great layout/lousy fairways
This course is a beautiful layout and has the potential to be a great course to play. The greens for the most part were in very good condition. A few needed some attention but overall very good. The fairways and tee boxes are in poor condition. They lack any sort of routine maintenance fertilzer and watering. Sad because it could be so much better. Time to step up, you are losing your course.

Its Getting Better
Praise the lord they put some really nice sand in the bunkers. I was in 3 and got out on the 1st shot every time. Now would you please put some grass on some of the tee boxes and trim the other ones. My buddy and I play this course every other week. I still have trouble finishing hole 18 but I love the challenge. The staff here are really friendly and they pretty much know when we will be there. I see some people putting it down recently but you really can't beat it for the price. Fairways and greens are in excellent shape and I enjoy my experience every week. Thanks !!!!!!

Needs Help
Greens are in pretty decent conditions considering the rest of the course. Tee boxes are overgrown, some fairways are not bad, the majority have lots of weeds and as for the rough, if there is anything growing it would be weeds. The sand traps have weeds and grass in them also. To a point that the fairway bunkers on hole three are overgrown. I like the layout and I can only hope the management can get a maintenance team in there and address the issues and bring this course up to its potential.

Torres
Sand traps need a lot of work. There is grass growing in the bunkers. Also the ruff needs to be cut down some. It’s very hard to locate your ball just off the fairway.

20 year review
20 year review I have played the course close to 800 times during the past 20 years I have never had a bad experience. The staff has been especially helpful. My favorite course in the area is Silverthorn.
