Meadowlark Golf Course
About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

challenging greens
This course is very close to where I live but I tend not to go there because of the pace of play. Which is terrible! 3:15 for the front nine.
Starter took pity on us and let us play the front nine again and thankfully it only took 2hrs.
Ran into some one who was ahead of our group and he quit at the 5hr mark and was only on the 15th. hole!
Not worth the your time
The course was in very poor condition, we were paired up with 2 beginners who shared a set of clubs. That should have been caught by either the clubhouse attendant, or marshall since they had no starter. The fairways were hardpan in some spots and muddy in others. It was just a bad outing all together, did not enjoy my day on the course. I will never go back, and I definitely will not recommend this course to anyone I know. Course stinks!!!!
Lifeguard
Over watered, to many pools of mud. 4 greens had movement, rest looked like it, straight as arrow . Overall great price for special w/end price. Staff great. Need marshals for slow play
excellant intermediat course
Course is well maintained, some of the sandtraps need real sand vice the dirt mixter there now. made a few visits this trip. Front nine was my favorite but only because the greens on that back nine are hard as in like a bowling ball and shape like one as well, balls would tend to roll off the green if you didnt land it softly. There is a few water holes a couple within reach of a good drive but very costly if you miss. Very fun course. Excellant cart girl. She made sure we had everything we needed.
Narrow, overlapping fairways.
Enjoyed the course, the twosome we matched up with and the layout but the hardpack bunkers and adjoing fairways were troublesome and we believe a defecit.
this course is convenient to where we live
foursomes were put out without any time between resulting in slow play. no marshals on the course to hurry slow players.
What happened.
I have been playing meadowlark for over 10 years and course go up and down through the years but I have never seen it in this bad of condition.
Good course for good time golfers
I was pleasantly surprised at the pace of this course. We were able to finish in 3 1/2 hours. The greens were fair and the fairways appeared to be still in good shape considering it's Monday.
Pace of play way too slow
Had tee time of 10:10am, didn't start until 11:00am, finished at 5:30pm. the twosome that was play with us quit after 15 holes. Longest round of golf I have every played.
Great course for hot days.
The weather was excellent, cool because its so close to the beach. Unfortunately, it is also crowded and play was very slow with waits on most tees.
Meadowlark is not overly long, but does require the use of a number of clubs. The rough around the greens can present a challenge and many of the greens are bowl shaped. Hitting to the middle of the greens is recommended.
Play was very SLOW.
Very slow play, no Marshall's and the staff in the pro shop didn't seem to care when we complained. Will not play this course again!
course was in shambles.
Dirt in the fairways. Lots of places missing grass. Greens weren't bad but otherwise this course needs some serious attention.
Good variety in types of holes.
1st 9 is rather flat, 2nd has more holes with elevations. Many greens are quite undulating making putting challenging. Pace was good for the weekend. Staff curtious and professional.
Fun course. Well kept.
Fun course xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Awesome experience
Friendly staff, especially the kid at the counter, she was helpful and answered all questions with courtesy and professionalism. The Management staff seemed to be in the back room while she was handling all the golfers checking in on Sat morning and she still managed to help me with merchandise that i needed to buy.
This course has a number of fun hazards/features: ponds, lake and lots of tree toruble if you're not hitting it straight.
it my hometown course I play. It is a fun short course. I always recommend this course to friends
Slow Play
I have played this course 5 times. Every time I have played, it has taken at least 5 hours to get through the round. If you are looking to get a quick round in, DO NOT play here. Yes, I played during the week.
overbooked
took us 90 minutes to play first two holes. when we got to the third hole there were four groups ahead of us waiting to tee off. quit after three holes. week before it took us 5 hours and 30 minutes to finish.
Best value in HB
My son an I love Meadowlark. I'ts challenging but plenty of birdie holes. Great value and close to home
Fun course, Poor Staff
This course is short but kept fun due to the coastal breeze and varied tee position. However they literally have zero spacing between tee offs. So every par 3 is three groups backed up. Over 5 hours to play this short course equates to a lot of sitting waiting to tee off.
