El Dorado Park Golf Club

I rarely play Long Beach, but decided to play on this day. Got a group of three random singles they were all very nice and friendly of course was nice. Greens were actually really good and Pace if play was terrible but overall, I would go again.

I played in a scramble event for a Trade Show. Overall, this course is not in very good shape. Tee to green, it was below average, but the greens? They were horrendous. Some were apparently under repair with sand randomly scattered about. Not punched, just sand. Most others hadn’t had a pitch mark repaired in seemingly weeks. I joked with one of my playing partners about, “fix yours and one other” but to get a clean path to the hole, we’d have been there all day repairing pitch marks. The course seemed to have a fairly large and loyal group of members and they might benefit from a refresher on how to take care of their “Home Course.” If I got a certificate for a free round here, I’d give it away… with a warning.

Another great day at Eldo, from the friendly staff at the check in to the Marshal on the course everyone is very nice, hit a bucket of balls, teed off on a beautiful day, the fairways were great, the greens were in great shape, the pace of play was great, got done in 4 hours and 15 minutes, had a great time, if you get a chance to play Eldo give it a shot, you won’t regret it, I have it in my rotation of courses that I play, just a nice course top to bottom

The restaurant and the food section can be greatly improved. Pitching a tent and serving hot dogs and hamburgers is a very poor idea. It actually brings down the course values. I went inside the bar and asked if they had sandwiches and other types of food, but the lady behind the bar wasn’t too friendly and directed me back outside to the barbecue tent.

The guys in the pro shop are wonderful and very customer service minded. They are the best I’ve seen so far on a public course.

A few things I’d recommend. Have an option to NOT reserve tee time + cart. We enjoy walking and it was not worth the $90 fee.

Second; very rough greens with A LOT of bird/duck poop… at the tee area, fairway, path, and even on the putting greens. This golf course is next to a park where they blast music. I found this very disruptive and unenjoyable.

Their grass needs more maintenance bc while walking, I fell in a ditch with overgrown grass. Yes, I sprained my ankle and had to walk it out for 6 more holes until finishing.

Think twice about playing here. Not worth the high price.

Had another great round at Eldo, everything keeps getting better here, I play this course at least two or three times a month and from the staff inside to the pace of play, everything has improved a bunch, we teed off on time and finished in four and a half hours, everything was great, the only thing I would bring up were some of the tee boxes were not in the best condition, other than that it was perfect, and I’m already looking for a tee time for next week there, give it a try, you will be happy you did

Had another great day at Eldo, from the check in with the great staff, to the set up for our round, the pace the last 2 rounds has been amazing, 4 1/2 hours, course is in great shape and nothing to complain about here, well worth the money, thanks again, will be back, I play 4-6 times a month and I always have you in my rotation,

I enjoyed a great round at Eldo, from the time I checked in, the young man behind the counter was polite and friendly, let me know that the course was running right on time, I went out and practiced putting and off we went, we went through the course in 4 hours, the greens are in great shape, fairways cut nicely, tee boxes mostly in good shape, that would be my only concern, but for the traffic they see, you just have to live with it,

Hurry to El Dorado before these conditions change. Beautifully rolling greens. So smooth I was scaring the hole from 50ft out. Aim, fire (at the correct speed) and you'll keep your line the whole way there. Fairways were cut very nicely. Tee boxes OK. Surprised with the great pace of play on a Friday for a 1:20 tee off.
