Meadowlark Golf Course
About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Good
although relative short in terms of yardage, There are some holes that are quite challenging. #7 is just intimidating, #9 due to its length and uphill to the green is a very difficult par 4,
#18 is always into the wind, #12-the green is on a crown and it is difficult to get the ball to settle on the green.
So, I think the course is quite challenging for a 22 index.
I like this course , the bar and food is good as well, great to watch some football before or after your round.
I enjoy this course, for my level of play it is a lot of fun. The problem I have with this course is drainage issues. On almost every he there is one or multiple spots where water gathers and you get a muddy mess. More then once I thought I lost a ball only to find it dug in the mudd. I like this course and the people , I hope this problem get corrected soon. I will say the greens were in great shape but whoever is choosing the hole locations must be scottish!!
I really like this course and hope to see it in better shape soon.
Playable and challenging
Tee times are never on time. Exaample., The last two times we have played this course we did not get out until 45 min. After our scheduled times. This last round we had two five somes in front of us and no marshals to help keep pace, as a result very slow play.
Course has great features
The course is a bit challenging and having hills and ponds and trees helps you forget your other problems. Greens are good! The management of the course is the problem. Over booking, no marshall or course attendant to keep the people from having a party at every hole. Sending out groups of 5 really slows it down.
Great place for a twilight round!
Super friendly staff!
This is a great place for date night golf starting at 4:00 3 or 4 times a week.
Short but challenging
Fun little course, small turtle back greens make it challenging.
This course has excellent value for the price.
I really appreciate the fact that my bank account did not get depleded just for golfing on this course. Great value for the money. Loved it!
A nice course that is not too demanding
I like this course because it is always in good condition! Pace of play can be slow but still a fun course.
Played Tuesday and had 4 birdies and shot 73!!! My best round ever!!!!!!!!!!
challenging greens
This course is very close to where I live but I tend not to go there because of the pace of play. Which is terrible! 3:15 for the front nine.
Starter took pity on us and let us play the front nine again and thankfully it only took 2hrs.
Ran into some one who was ahead of our group and he quit at the 5hr mark and was only on the 15th. hole!
Not worth the your time
The course was in very poor condition, we were paired up with 2 beginners who shared a set of clubs. That should have been caught by either the clubhouse attendant, or marshall since they had no starter. The fairways were hardpan in some spots and muddy in others. It was just a bad outing all together, did not enjoy my day on the course. I will never go back, and I definitely will not recommend this course to anyone I know. Course stinks!!!!
Lifeguard
Over watered, to many pools of mud. 4 greens had movement, rest looked like it, straight as arrow . Overall great price for special w/end price. Staff great. Need marshals for slow play
excellant intermediat course
Course is well maintained, some of the sandtraps need real sand vice the dirt mixter there now. made a few visits this trip. Front nine was my favorite but only because the greens on that back nine are hard as in like a bowling ball and shape like one as well, balls would tend to roll off the green if you didnt land it softly. There is a few water holes a couple within reach of a good drive but very costly if you miss. Very fun course. Excellant cart girl. She made sure we had everything we needed.
Narrow, overlapping fairways.
Enjoyed the course, the twosome we matched up with and the layout but the hardpack bunkers and adjoing fairways were troublesome and we believe a defecit.
this course is convenient to where we live
foursomes were put out without any time between resulting in slow play. no marshals on the course to hurry slow players.
What happened.
I have been playing meadowlark for over 10 years and course go up and down through the years but I have never seen it in this bad of condition.
Good course for good time golfers
I was pleasantly surprised at the pace of this course. We were able to finish in 3 1/2 hours. The greens were fair and the fairways appeared to be still in good shape considering it's Monday.
Pace of play way too slow
Had tee time of 10:10am, didn't start until 11:00am, finished at 5:30pm. the twosome that was play with us quit after 15 holes. Longest round of golf I have every played.
Great course for hot days.
The weather was excellent, cool because its so close to the beach. Unfortunately, it is also crowded and play was very slow with waits on most tees.
Meadowlark is not overly long, but does require the use of a number of clubs. The rough around the greens can present a challenge and many of the greens are bowl shaped. Hitting to the middle of the greens is recommended.
Play was very SLOW.
Very slow play, no Marshall's and the staff in the pro shop didn't seem to care when we complained. Will not play this course again!
