Great challenge course
Golf course was in good shape. Couple of greens on back 9 kinda rough but looks like they are trying to fix them. All around great challenge course
Unusual Florida Day
Although we’re almost at the end of February, our round started out a little chilly with a threat of rain. It didn’t rain, but the wind picked up and at times there were gusts that would drastically change the trajectory of a golf shot. I love Sherman Hills course. It’s beautifully designed with rolling hills and wide fairways. On this day, the greens were not in good shape, especially on the back nine, and on one of them, a couple of us commented that it was like putting on concrete. Otherwise, it was a glorious day out, and despite the greens and wind, we had a great time.
Green Crowned
The greens were almost all crowned and fast. Better stay below the flag to have a chance at par otherwise you may roll of the green. They were the most difficult part of the course. Many had bare spots from disease?
Greens
The back nine greens were horrible they need to seed the greens
Sherman Hills
Course has a nice layout and is reasonably priced. However, the greens need a LOT of TLC. They are nearly bald, extremely fast and, for that condition, pins set in very awkward positions.
Tale of two nines
We liked the course with the exception of three or four greens on the back nine that are total junk.
Don't play until they get the greens fixed.
Greens were dead. It was like putting on a marble floor. Fairways weren't bad and tea boxes were just okay. I don't plan on playing there for a long time.
Pricey for greens that are brown
The course layout is nice. Fairways and tee boxes were in good shape but the greens were brown. After 9 holes we wanted to stop and get a hot dog and a beer but was told by the old ratchet lady working the bar thats not allowed here and there isnt time for that. Weird since thats something we do at every other golf course. So we continued playing behind people who were super slow. For 52 dollars I definitely feel like i overpaid.
review
Sherman Hills is always in fine condition and well worth the 40 mile drive from Hudson. The greens are cut close and fast with some undulation.....fairways cut close and nice and wide ...with not too many sand traps or water hazards......looking forward to returning there again someday soon....
Course needs tlc
When I arrived at the 2nd tee there were 2 guys on the green and a person on the tee box waiting to tee off. After the waiting person finished the hole the other 2 were still standing on the next tee box and there was no one in front if them. There was waiting on every hole. The greens were not in good shape and sime on the back 9 were horrible to putt on.
Good and bad
Check in was OK. No starter or cart person. Conditions were mixed between excellent for winter golf to some disease ate the green and left no grass. Basically about three holes on the back nine need help. Some where ahead of us a group was taking their time or just took up the game. However, it is a fun course to play in the wind and we had plenty of wind.
My option
I've played 6 or 7 different courses around this area. This course is definitely in the best condition, and with a new fleet of carts, it was a pleasure to golf this course.
