About
Nestled in the foothills of Yorba Linda, Black Gold Golf Club sits on the site of a former Shell Oil Field. Arthur Hills, the course's designer, thought the location, with its dramatic elevation changes and panoramic views overlooking Orange County and Palm Beach, was the perfect place for a round of golf. On a clear day, the views stretch as far as the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island. The challenging layout is filled with narrow, rolling fairways and fast greens accented by thick patches of punishing rough. Due to the hilly terrain, a flat lie is hard to come by. The front nine requires accuracy and the back nine offers some particularly interesting risk-reward opportunities. Water hazards come into play throughout Black Gold Golf Club, most notably on the 18th. This par-5 finishing hole incorporates a cascading waterfall.

Great course
I really enjoyed my round at Black Golf. The pace of play on a Friday was 4:15 which was great. Might be the best greens I have played so far in California.
Black Gold Treasure
I golfed here about 25 years ago and it still is as good as it was that time ago. I would come back here more often since I am retired and had to quit the country club I belonged to a few years ago.
Excellent conditions with a fun and challenging layout.
Conditions were fantastic with large, tricky greens and clean fairways. The course gets a bit narrow and there's plenty of bunkers to infuence your club choice. Challenging but fair. Course got a tad backed up on the first few holes but smoothed out for a sub 4 hour round.
Customer service got better here.
The staff was accommodating and I enjoyed the challenge of the layout along with fast greens. If you can get a good deal its great value for Orange County.
buddies from torrance
one golfer had best round, eventhough it was one of his most difficult course. Others shared it was worth to come back again. One minor issue, front nine pace was right on target, but back nine for some reason, it slowed down quite alot. Did not get to play 17th and 18th hole

Nice course played 5 days after aeration and still great greens. Just booked a hot deal for tomororw and can’t wait to have another go at that par 5
