The fairways are just ok the sand traps well maintained. but i have to say the greens were completely amazing and very fast.

I was very pleasantly surprised to find a nice green course to play despite it being winter. The courses my husband and I have been playing recently have been very nice but understandably brown and yellow in just about every place except the tee box, the fairways and the greens. Black Gold is pretty and very well-maintained. I’m not sure I care for the layout of the first and ninth holes as they are parallel to one another and apparently it is very easy to hit a tee shot onto the wrong fairway. Fortunately this did not happen to me or my husband but there was a delay in me teeing off the first hole as a player on the ninth hole was looking for his ball and ultimately found it on our fairway. The same thing happened with the 2 guys paired with us when we made it to the 9th hole—they both hit their balls to the first fairway, by accident of course, but since there is little separation between the 2 holes, it’s very easy to do. With that said, all the other holes were quite distinct and a lot of fun to play. It’s my husband’s new favorite course and he’s looking forward to playing it again.

Maybe it’s the volume of players during Covid, but just like any nicer public course, the course is completely winterized. Tee boxes were compacted dirt, fairways were dried out and hard, rough is yellow and overgrown, and bunkers without sand. Greens were immaculate as always, rolled and quick. Course is definitely not worth the steep price point in current conditions, but similarly to other higher end public courses, the winterization made it unrewarding. Spring time is soon around the corner.

This course is like a mix between Arrowood and eagle Glenn on steroids Great amenities and Great Service Great Greens

Course very dry. Bumpy greens. Very friendly staff though. If you like target golf its a good course. Not my cup of tea.

Great course and layout. Very challenging for a beginner of my caliber (>1 year) but had fun. Getting to hole 3 was a bit confusing but probably had to do with the fact that it was my first time there. Definitely coming back

Great course with views of the valley and on some holes you can see all the way to the ocean. Well laid out with very good turf. Bunkers are crushed marble rather than sand which imakes them very white. Nice course, just a little more pricey than I expected for a weekly player.

Recently, many golf courses raised golf fee due to increasing demand. But course condition and service did not follow the fee increase. I truly believe Black Gold is the course where I am happy to pay to play. Fantastic course layout with great course condition and freindly service by staffs always satisfy and meet my expectation!
