I loved the course layout and plan to come back when in the area again. If you like tough, fast greens, that roll true, this is a a good place to test yourself. Have fun!

it is wonderful golf course and challenging golf course as well I love to come back to play again and it was pretty tough green. Overall, I enjoyed so much!

Black Gold is usually a little pricy for me, but got a good deal on GolfNow, so my buddy and I played it. Fortunately I played pretty well and only lost a couple of balls, but the others in our group must have lost at least two dozen between them (and that is a conservative estimate). Its a typical hillside course where if you hit a bad drive, the ball is lost in the shrubbery, and you're taking a penalty. No chance to recover from a bad drive. Personally, I find recovering from bad shots to be one of the most enjoyable aspects of golf, and courses like this essentially take much of that away. Nobody's fault, and when building a course on hilly terrain like this, that is part of the deal.

I would not recommend Black Gold for higher handicapped golfers. You will be frustrated, lose a ton of balls, and probably will not have a good time. For the better golfer, I would recommend it. Beautiful vistas, challenging conditions, tough greens, but a good score can be made.

Black Gold is a nice course, but it is what it is, so buyer beware.

Beautiful course, excellent condition! Greens are pretty fast, so putt carefully. Great layout, really enjoyed my round. Played for a great deal through Golfnow.

Everything was beautiful and the environment was kept in excellent conditions. The only thing that was inconvenient was that the day I golfed there was also a wedding. The newly maids and photographer was on the 10th hole taking photographs preventing us from playing that hole. Other than that it was sweet!

This was a challenging course but you can score well if you pay attention to every shot. Getting off the tee well on most holes will set you up well. Thew elevation changes made it challenging and fun. We had a number of birdies in our group and we are moderate golfers. Will definitely play again if the opportunity arises.

I played black gold on a wed morning and teed off at 11. I thought playing mid week would keep the crowds down but I was wrong. ThThe course actually wasn't very crowded, the marshals just did not move pepole along. Total round time was just over 5 hours and we didn't stop at the turn. No exaggeration we waited to hit every shot.

The course itself was in pretty good shape. No complaints about fairways or tee boxes. The greens had been punched about a month earlier and have recovered well. There were only a few spots that had not and none of the pin locations were near those areas. The greens were very fast but rolled true and offered a fun challenge.

The round would have been great if it were not for the pace of play. And for $87 on a thurstay morning I expected that to be better.

The greens were in good shape for being punched last week. The fairways were in great shape and green, planning on playing again this weekend

Great course ! What make it good you need to play target golf it's good to play and don't be thinking of balls flying into your fairway from others.

A good course for the area. Highly recommend it if you have a chance to play.

Course is making a change in grasses, but it is the bare spots and patchy fairways that get your attention. Bunkers need work (more sand would be nice) too. Tough rough .Used to be immaculate. Greens are firm and roll true. May be best feature. Not sure is is a great value if they charge a premium prices given the condition of the course.

Staff were courteous and inviting. Course was fair and challenging; back 9 had much narrower fairways and required target golf. Greens rolled true and we're moderately fast. Overall a good deal for the price.

Ordering food in the bar was very good but slow. Don't think you can grab a quick bite right before you play...won't work.

Value priced. Challenging layout. Beware elevation changes, which can make club selection a priority. Good pace, friendly and helping staff. 4 stars.

For $100.00 greens are terrible
Does anyone fix divots? Have never seen them in this poor shape.

Certain areas had very soggy spots. A couple of the pins were not cut where GPS showed. Greens in good shape. Fairways very playable but rough had some heavy grass, No. 9 for sure. Only bunker I was in on #7, Hard as a rock. Lower snack shop not open.

Dramatic elevation changes and challenging fairways. Worth the drive and money to play. Watch out for snakes.

The location is accessible...great view...staff is efficient and friendly...course is in good condition, but would be even better if the people who play would repair their divots...There are some patchy areas and a few over water collection ones too...Not a course for the weary, but a great challenge, risk, and reward round to be had by all

The course was in excellent condition with perfect weather.

Overall a great course. Had some spots of over watering but still super fun. I got a great deal but would play this course without it.

First time at this course and I look forward to returning. Excellent practice facility, friendly pro shop and on-course personnel, and quality golf course. It plays like a desert course so accuracy is needed off the tees, and the greens are challenging due to undulations and speed. Several long par 3 holes are all carry over steep canyons. Definitely playing here again this summer
