Wet Eagle Ridge!
This is a beautiful, but very challenging golf course set in Gilroy, California. Unfortunately we played Eagle Ridge just after a series of rain storms that left the course completely saturated.
We arrived for our T-Time with about an hour to spare. There was no other trafficon the course. The starter had us wait unitl our exact T-Time; we couldn't quite finish because of the difficult playing conditions.
I hope to play Eagle Ridge again when playing conditions are much better.
Best Drive Ever
I knew that I was likely to get wet on this day, In fact I waited an hour to hit my first shot. But what a shot it was. It was worth the wait ! I didn't finish all 18 but it didn't matter. That first shot felt awesome, all the way to my feet...yeah
Extremely soggy
This is a great trek (in summer),Winter run off here is terrible and absorption non existent so playing here without giving it a month or so to dry out will leave a bad example of just how good this course can be in summer. All sand traps had zero sand and that's only if they weren't completely filled with water to look as if they were ponds.A perfect shot in middle of fairway was only perfect if you could find your plugged ball or otherwise you were looking constantly to locate your ball,in cut off fairway forget it unless you hit a line drive and it rolled then just look for a mud colored orb.I know they need the revenue so they allow you to play but really this needs to dry out or it hurts it more then helps, every step on the green you can see. There are a couple holes that are playable within reason really the ones not near any hill were water drains down and sits but if you know this course that's very few as the elevation changes is what makes this course so good in summer. All in all I still recommend the course because I have played it numerous times just play it in the summer or when it has had enough time to soak in the water were its walkable,my water proof shoes still left my socks completely soaked by the end of the day.
Great day on the Ridge
I love the layout of the course but the pace of play was terrible. We had a twosome and asked if we could go out early and were told no so we ended up behind foursomes that were extraordinary slow and would not let us play through. There appeared to be no groups in front of the 2 groups of 4 that would not let us play through causing us to have a round of golf at just under 5 1/2 hrs.
That pace of play took all the fun out of the round.
I would love to try the course again at a 4-4 1/2 hr round as it should be.
Beautiful Course
Wonderful course to play. Every hole is picturesque. The staff was great. very helpful and friendly. The fairways and undulating greens were in excellent shape.
Some of the bunkers were unkempt, but the ones I hit out of provided good true shots. No mud or pavment style club bounce.
We all had great holes and also blow up holes, but just a fun round. Finished in 4:20. Good pace for a Saturday 9:00 tee time.
On a course with a lot of hazards, I only lost one ball. In the water where the photo was taken.
Worth the 1 hour 10 minute drive to get there.
Great Value
Beautiful course with plenty to keep you pleasantly amused and interested. Undulating fairways and greens. The rough is rough.
Docdouglas
Great course, the only negative is the bunkers, good overall value
Need some sand in the bunkers
Always enjoy playing Eagle Ridge
Come on guys buy some sand and put it in the bunker, otherwise fill them all in!!!
Great course
We played a foursome. It is a challenging course, well maintained and the staff is friedly
awesome course
Fun and Very Challenging layout
Greens were in great shape... pretty quick
Fairways in good condition
Rough needs to be trimmed... our group lost a few balls off the tee that should have been found just a few paces off the fairways. Even switching to a High Vis ball mid round still proved difficult to locate. i have a feeling that the grounds crew are going to be chewing up a bunch of balls in their mowers!
Slow play and grass not cut
A five hour round is not normal???? Why do you think it is?
Tee boxes, fairways needed moving. Course was wetter than expected with no rain?
4+ hours to play 12 holes?!
after a night of heavy rain the course was cart path only. no problem, except that they booked tee times every 10 minutes. our round was 4+ hours to play 12 holes. UNACCEPTABLE! if they are going to make it cart path only, its smart and sensible to book less tee times in order to facilitate the pace of play. on hole 7 for example, had us on the tee, TWO groups of 4 on the fairway and one group on the green. we left after 12 holes. oh, and NO marshall to even attempt to get groups moving a little quicker. bad job , eagle ridge
Great views from a well kept course
This course has its challenges. It keeps you coming back to better your score.
Wish the course conditions were better
Tee box conditions were very poor -- soggy grounds, uneven, and long grass. Green condition were fair, but not good. I guess they don't want to cut the green too often.
Eagle Ridge excellent
I've played this course several times and never been disappointed, always in great condition!
Great round on a great course. Really enjoyed it!
Great course - good layout, well maintained in very nice condition. Challenging, but not too much.
Good value but awful pace of play
The course was in great shape as always but they lack a course Marshall so the pace of play is awful. We quit after 14 holes because we' were already 5 1/2 hours into the round. It's a really beautiful course and great value only if they do something about the pace of play.
The best golf course I've ever played in my life thanks to golf now I only paid 25$
Beaitful golf course.top notch all the.way I payed 25$ for a 1210 tee time the staff at Eagle Ridge are excellent customer service I played by myself no-one behind me I had a great time it would have been nice if the golf carts had GPS inside other then that perfect day at the golf course I
