nice course but tight
Played there this morning. Nice layout, very friendly staff. Limited food items. Course was generally good but the bunkers need extensive work. I was told that up front which was nice. It's a straight hitters course with no bailouts on any hole with trouble left and right. Greens were very nice and rolled well. It's a very good course for the money.
Best Value for your $...no waiting
Even driving from Santa Cruz thru 152 was well worth it
Course is in a beautiful setting!
I enjoy playing this course, but it is a difficult course for anyone that is a "bogey" golfer like myself. Enjoy the scenery and layout, and don't worry much about your score, especially if your handicap is 18 or more. My only negative comment about my round is that the pace of play was slow with the group I was assigned to play with, even though they were a little lower handicap than myself, took a lot of time "analyzing" their shots!
Eagle Ridge - Gilroy
Very good golf course, well maintained and challenging. There is some moderate elevation change on holes with good quality greens. Tucked away in the hills of Gilroy, this course is worth the cost
Eagle Ridge Golf Course
Eagle Ridge in Gilroy is a course to play. There are many different tee's to choose from and the course is beautiful. The pace of play is very good.
Great hotdogs at the snack shack.
Good course
2 some tee time 720am. Got stuck behind a foursome that were looking for every lost ball. They let us play through on the 5th hole and never saw anyone in front of behind us the rest of the day. Snack bar guy in the morning wouldn't make me a breakfast burrito because he said they were frozen. I said I had 30 mins to tee time how long would they take. He said I told you they are frozen which really annoyed me.
this course has great features.
wonderful layout and good fareway condition.
high level golf course but a lot of fun.
Challenging
Tough course but well maintained.
Almost Perfect
This is my favorite local course because you get to use all different kinds of shots. Tight as well as wide tee shots, both cut and draw holes. Strategy off the tee on shorter par 4 holes is required.
Conditions:
-Greens are always fast and true
-Fairways are 95% good and only mildly effected by a couple years of drought. They are getting better.
-Sand traps are mostly un-raked or prepped on most days. It seems they rotate the raking so they hit them twice a week.
Staff is courteous and the marshall's generally keep play going.
Much better than Coyote Creek and Cinnabar.
The rate I paid was cheaper than Spring Valley! Wow!!
Great Morning at Eagle Ridge
We had the 3rd tee time of the day. The pace of play was outstanding. The early groups were all keeping a good clip. The course was in excellent condition. It has an excellent mix of holes. It's a rock solid value. Friendly staff as well.
Eagle ridge
Overall good course. But some of the holes the tree needs some pruning to improve site lines and giving different shot options especially when the wind picks up.
Nice, tough course
This course was in great shape. Greens were laser fast. Expect unevern lies no matter where you're at. My only gripe is that the bunkers didn't have sand. Mostly dirt. Found myself in 4 bunkers. They really only had sand around the edges.
Fun layout, challenging but playable
Nice course, good value. Interesting holes with a nice range of difficulty. One windmill hole.
Eagle Ridge Golf
The course is better than I remember from playing it twice previously. It's challenging with undulating greens all over the course. Couse management and knowledge are at a premium at Eagle Ridge. I found myself saying at times what was Johnny Miller thinking? It's a great place to get you golf game in shape. I also thought some holes played to longer yardage than indicated. I'll be going back!
ER is a Great, Challenging Course
If you play from the tips, bring your 'A' game and a few extra balls. This is a very difficult (especially when the wind is howling), but fair course. This course is worth the drive from the San Jose area...especially considering the alternatives around here!
A great round of golf!
Had a great time playing Eagle Ridge. Everyone that worked there was super friendly. Water jugs were filled out on the course since it gets so hot. Greens were in excellent shape, along with the fairways and tee boxes. Saw some deer and wild turkeys. Challenging yet fun. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks Eagle Ridge!
Beautiful course
Beautiful course, nice staff, nice layout.
well maintained
I played this course before and have always done pretty well, the course is in great shape and the greens are perfect when hitting into and putting. The fairways are in awesome shape too. I think paying 3.75 for a Gatorade was a bit much but hey it's a golf course where you expect a little higher cost. I was paired up with a 3 some of ladies but the starter asked if I wanted to join the 2 some in front of my tee time which I did and had a very good time with the guys I played with. The front side seemed to yield a better score than the back for me but all in all was a very good experience. Well done Eagle Ridge......
Meh
Course was ok. But for a $79 fee ($99 non GolfNow), it was in average to poor condition. Even worse, the sand traps were all hard pan. Ridiculous that they can't keep the traps just a little fluffy. Lame.
Plus...we called in at the 9th hole to have sandwiches ready, and when we got to the snack bar/shop, none of our food was ready, which resulted in our foursome slowing down the pace of play and backing up a couple of golfers behind us.
Overall, a somewhat poor to average experience.
One of the Best
With more sand in some of the bunkers, it'd be perfect all the way around (even the range).
Lots of memorable holes.
