Challenging!
Very challenging golf course and I got a good deal. Greens are very fast and fun. I have not seen so many 3-4 putts at other courses
Great course, great value
Beautiful, challenging course. Really helps to know the layout as there are many hazards . Definitely not a course for beginners. Staff was super friendly.
Only negative was the bunkers were not in good condition.
Didn't see any eagles
Enjoyed the day, despite the heat and the challenges the course provided. You better be precise when playing every shot. Never much room for error. The beauty of this course belies the monster hidden within.
What a day of golf
it was one of those great days, finish in about 3 1/2 hrs. we tee off late at 1pm. I usually like to play early, but man it was right. no waiting on tee boxes moved at our own pace and course was in great shape. I was in heaven. I have not played a round of golf in less than 4 hrs in years. Very happy. It was a perfect day of golf
Challenging course from the black tees.
Course is in good condition and enjoyed the round. Great variety of holes and very challenging from the black tees. Played in the afternoon and it was pretty windy which made it tougher. Overall a great value for money, specially with the hot deals.
Great conditions considering that there is drought
Played around mid day in late July. Given the state-wide drought, the course was in great shape. The course's weak point is and always been the uneven condition of the bunkers. Played in a two + club wind. Makes the course very difficult on the ridge holes. You should know that the wind is usual.
On a different note, seniors should ask for the senior rate- age 60, $49.00 w/ a cart during the week. One of my foursome was asked and received this rate, while my partner and I were not asked and paid the golf now rate I booked.
a real challenge
This course is known for all the sand traps, which can be a real challenge.
Great course but don't play out of bunkers
Golf course was great staff great only complaint the bunkers are horrible the maintenance must of ran out of GIR signs because either the bunker was being worked on or it look like it should of been. I was in two bunkers and the bottom of my SW looks like I played the ball of the cart path. Very disappointing if you play there bring an old sand wedge
Great day
Tough course with a lot of bunkers. I wish they had a better beer selection when you hit the 19th hole.
great features
some how .players too slow
keep to regular time better
Excellent golf course
It was a very hot day still enjoyed the course will tell people about my experiece.
Vic At Eagle Ridge
I really enjoyed this course and will definately play it again soon. I've played it a few years ago when I was a poor golfer. Now Im a 7 handicap, this course was very enjoyable to play.
Bunkers are BUNK
Courses in really good condition, except for the bunkers. Hard, inconsistent, and just terrible overall. As usual, staff in pro shop are way more accommodating for members then us GolfNow folk. Though the starter was pleasant as usual.
The Great, The Good and The Bad
Excellent conditions (finally a course with sand in the bunkers!), helpful staff, practice facilities could be better (range mats on a weekend at a high end daily fee???), poor excuse for short game area when they actually have usable real estate for one, practice putting green has no level spots and while course greens can be slope-y and mildly severe in places much of the practice green has you practicing putts you'll never see on the course
potato all to be so much better..
Course layout is pretty good...many bunkers were under construction and we're not playable...greens ok...pace of play fine...staff were friendly..much better if the course was ready for play..
A Gem in Gilroy
This course is well worth the hike to Gilroy, though not one for high handicappers. Gorgeous setting in the hills, with great architectural touches and considerable variation from hole to hole keeps it interesting. The course is extremely challenging, without feeling ridiculous or unfair. On most holes, there is a correct way to play the hole, which can be very rewarding once you figure it out. The signature 9th hole is a great example - 5 iron off the tee followed by a 5 wood to the green, created an opportunity for par on this difficult hole. I have to comment on the 12th which is picturesque with a bridge reminiscent of the 12th at Augusta, which is the only nice thing I can say about it :) after it has kicked your butt and left you whimpering, you come upon the 200+ yard uphill par 3 where a driver might be a perfectly good choice for many; best to abandon notions of par, and walk away happy with a 4 on this one!
The fairways were in great shape where it counts, and the greens rolled true and fast. The rough is generally not penal, though there is plenty of trouble if you go looking for it; there are numerous bunkers and they can be tough - it is best to stay out of them. I was in a couple of greenside bunkers and found enough sand to play a reasonable shot, but some of the fairway bunkers did look kind of worn out and hard packed.
Overall, a great round, and I am definitely going back.
Nice course but overpriced
Course has a great layout and pretty good conditions for the time of the year. Only downfall would be the price. It's a nice course but it still isn't as a nice as the courses in AC like Ballamor, Twisted Dune, etc. You can get deals to the AC courses for under $50 and Eagle Ridge prices are around $80. I wouldn't pay more than $50 to play Eagle Ridge. There are much better options for a much cheaper cost.
GST
Greens could be a bit more receptive, but overall a challenging course in great condition.
