Long day.

We teed off between 11:00 - noon on Saturday and walked off the course after 15 holes and 5 hours. Pace of play was not bad at the start, but ground to an incredibly slow pace by the 6th hole. I would recommend playing early in the morning on weekends or play during the week.

A hidden gem!

This is one of the best courses in the Bay Area. Always in great condition with fast greens and well maintained fairways. A good driving range and practice area too. This is a challenging course, and club selection can be a bit tricky for some of those greens at the end of an uphill fairway. I really like playing here because you're playing on the ranch land with no houses nearby. The view at the end of #18 is quite spectacular. This is one of my favourite courses to play in the Bay Area because it's always consistently in great condition.

the course was in good shape

very crowded the day we played with a group of bad golfers playing from the black tees in front of us. we were able to play in front of them on the 6th hole which allowed us to finish the round. it seemed like the course let many groups out in between tee times which backed up the whole course with no marshal to keep the groups on pace

Course in good shape.

Challenging and well conditioned. The only drawback is the bunkers which were hard packed.

The course was in in good almost to excellent condtion a real pleasure to play.

The fairways were green and almost in excellent condition there was some ground repair areas but at this time of the year I would expect that, but for the most part if your shots stayed in play and was a good shot the fairways were excellent. As for the greens I found to be in great condition cut low/fast but suprised to find when approaching the greens they had some bite. Roddy is a challenging course and will challenge you I would highly recommend its a great time of the year to play.

This course requires your A game. Many different lies & terrain mixed with fast greens make this course a real challange.

I hadn't played at Roddy Ranch in a while but I was excited to challenge my golf game there last Friday. The course is not in great shape right now. Many of the holes are compromised by the poor conditions due to ??? The greens had recently been punched and were no where near as fast as they normally are.I don't recall seeing anything telling me that the greens would be not be up to par, pardon the pun.I really like this course but it needs attention to make it a really great bargain again.

Fun and challenging with beautiful vistas of cow country

A good value when purchased through GolfNow. Convenient location and access from Northern California. We played on a Saturday as a two-some and met a new golfing friend. Fee included a very good tri-tip sandwich after the round. Lots of drinking water on the course, plus a traveling food cart. Nice practice facilities. It is a course that you would play often if you lived nearby, because it takes a few rounds to figure out how to fit your skill level into the layout. A cart is included in the fee because the course is too hilly to walk. It is similar to Poppy Ridge except you are seeing cattle grazing instead of vineyards. Pro shop and coffee shop are adequate and friendly.

Challenging course

This course was a challenge with elevation changes and bunkers everywhere. On some holes you might want to try and lay up on your first shot instead of try to drive the ball as close as you can. This course was definitely a challenge and recommended for experienced golfers looking for something more challenging.

Fun and challenging course, well worth the drive.

Played on a Saturday afternoon. Course was in very good shape. Greens had been aerated a little over a week earlier and were slower than usual but very playable. Course has plenty of challenges with numerous elevation changes and great views. Excellent weather. Finished in about 4 1/2 hours. Casual atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. Best value in the Bay Area!

good course great staff

course management should informed everyone of course condition that majority of the holes were still very sandy and bumpy or notified golf now of condition so the price could be adjusted accodingly for aerated conditions

Nice course

There is maintenance being done such as aerating, revegitation, and sanding of the greens, but still very playable.

Golfnow did not advise that there was course maintenance going on at Roddy Ranch and the greens were pretty much unplayable.

We learned of the airation of the greens that took place the day before, only once we got to the pro shop. This caused us to have to change golf courses at the last second

good course ,good value

A rare non windy very nice day at Roddy.Greens were in good shape. Fairways were spotty, with lots of dry areas, maybe uneven sprinkler coverage. A little off the beaten path but no houses and a nice course in rolling hills . Lots of elevation changes, up and down.Had a good time.

Among best values in America

If one searches GolfNow, one can find rates as low as $15 per player for a midweek round at Roddy Ranch. That includes cart and 18 holes on a grand links course winding through the hills east of the Bay Area. We enjoyed every minute of it and wished we had an earlier tee time so we could go around again.
