Highly recomnend this challenging course surrounded by nature.
Great layout, high tee boxes, fast greens & super friendly staff/customer service.
Great course. Extremally fast greens.
Love the course. Played on a non windy day which was an advantage. Greens were in perfect condition
Great time for the Money
Very Freindly staff, great conditions looking over the Valley towards Brentwood. Greens are in very good shape. Almost every shot is on a incline or decline. Recomend to anyone.
excellent course.
Always well maintained course. I like to play this particular course even though it is about 55 minutes drive from home.
Not us what i speck
Course bathroom are dirty n stinky and the reception is not friendly
Great test of golf
One of my favorite courses in the Bay Area. It's such a unique experience that there are no homes or roads out there, so it's so quiet and relaxing. Every hole is different and interesting, just a great course!
Always a Good Track
Late summer/early fall are the best times to play here, as the wind dies. The down side is that everything is very dry-fairways, greens, rough. On a course known for fast greens that don't hold shots well, this is a challenge. Pace of play is slow, but I guess you get what you pay for with cheap greens fees.
Challenging course even for single handicappers
I love this course. only the 2nd time I played it. First time was about 5 years ago and I forgot how difficult it was. I'm a better golfer now so I was up to the challenge. Fairways dont box you in, but you must play straight to score well. Number 6 is a mind game par 5. Forgot about that hole, cant wait to get back as now I know what to do. If you step out of line you can rest assured a Marshall will be there to correct you. Only thing I noticed was a lot of divots on greens were not repaired, probably just the good time hackers who have no sense of etiquette. Fairways in pretty good shape for this time of year, some bad spots but thats to be expected of any course. Greens are challenging but not unfair. very few straight putts over 3 feet.
Enjoyed the Course!!
First time player for these golf course. Staff were as friendly as I have seen it in other local courses. Some of the holes, you had you be on the look out for golfer on the fairways, several blind spots that prevent a golfer from see other golfers on the fairways. Thanks to GolfNow, it was a wonderful price to play at Roddy Ranch golf course!!! Would love to play it again. The green were tough to read, at time they were fast and other times slow. Very Challenging !
Beautiful course.
Roddy Ranch is really a great course for the money. Fairways are gorgeous and for the most part, the greens were in great shape except for a couple of brown spots here and there. The staff in the pro shop was friendly and helpful. The restaurant/grill leaves a lot to be desired. The gentleman working the grill was more interested in talking on the phone than attending to customers. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone.
Good Course Very Slow Play
I played this course in August and September (Labor Day) and both times it took more than 6 1/2 hours to play 18 holes. This unfortunate situation overshadows most of the good there would be playing here. The first time was attributed to a Tournament. The second was thought to be overbooking. I don't think there is any excuse for taking more than 6 1/2 hours to play . . . anywhere. Thank god for great friends who made this tolerable at all.
A nice track overall
A nice track, it will be even nicer when they get a real clubhouse and restaurant. Staff was nice enough, might help to have yardage books or GPS
Challenging and beautiful course
This course has some brutally long par 3s and some challenging and creative par 5s. This course really has it all with water, fairway bunkers, plenty of trees despite being in the middle of ranch land. The course is beautiful and worth the drive to Antioch.
One of the best courses in Norcal
The value for your $ simply can't be beat in northern Ca. The greens run smooth and true all year round. The layout is fun and challenging, you get all lies possible and use all the clubs in your bag. I've never had a round at Roddy that wasn't enjoyable.
This is by far the track I recommend the most to everyone.
Great Value
Great Deal on GolfNow..Course as usual was in great shape...tough greens, slower than what I use to remember, but still very quick and challenging to read.
Great Value!
Campy cowboy golf-course
Driving off the first tee into the wind on a long par-5 set the tone for this course. All but one par-3 read over 200 yards on the card. We probably bit off a too much playing from the gold tees (I carry 250 usually) but my playing partners assured me the wind was essentially constant and ever-present in the afternoons.
The mid-august fairways played very firm resulting in crazy long rolls. The generously placed bunkers are happy to catch misplaced shots and were generally in good condition with firm sand baked by the desert sun. Around the pins was not much better with modestly sized, firm greens surrounded by deep, punishing sand.
I played Roddy Ranch mid-morning on a weekday. My partners frequently searched for lost balls and I was worried we would fall behind pace of play, but we didn't, so the course just seems to play a bit slow, but we were done in 4:30 so it wasn't terrible.
Look for the deals
A very challenging course. It will test all aspects of your game. Gets a lot of play so be patience. You can get some very good deals if you can play during the week, especially if you look for some last minute offers.
Roddy Ranch requires that you bring all of your game to score well.
The course was in very good condition especially given the low water availability in Northern California right now. This course is always a challenge and when the wind is up, like it usually is, proper placement off the tee is paramount. Greens are in excellent shape as usual. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. If they ever build a proper clubhouse, this will become the shining jewel that east county deserves.
Course was good. People friendly.
Enjoyed ourselves. Busy course that day but marshall attempted to move people on. Great day.
Tough Links Style Course
Roddy Ranch is one of the best bargans in the East Bay for afternoon golf that includes a cart. When the winds blow, be prepared to have a real good challenge. The par 3's are really tough, with many over 200 yards from the gold tees. Par 4's range from short to long, but the wind will dictate how the hole will play, winds were about 25 mph when I played. Be prepared for a slow afternoon round as the course is difficult and certainly the winds should kick the difficulty up a few notches. Beautiful tee areas and views make this a memorable golf experience
