Challenging but poor lay out, drainage poor sand traps wet.
Poor drainage mucky in a lot of spots. No ground under repair designated. Sand traps are wet and poor condition. It looks like the fairways were rototilledin places. there were some great areas but not enough to bring me back regularly.
The course has great value and condition
Love this golf course, the staffs are friendly, the course has great condition, the value can't beat. One of my favorite golf course.
I highly recommend it. Go out play and you'll love it.
great course/great value
Probably one of the best values in the bay area, Roddy Ranch always offers inexpensive tee times that are worth the drive for me. Challenging track, fast undulated greens, rolling fairways, elevated tees... Definitely a true test to your game. One of my favorites to play.
Play WAY too slow
5 Hours and 15 minutes in 100 degree heat. Did not see an effort by any of the marshalls to speed things along. Certainly would not play again on a Monday. Epitomizes the old saying:
"Those who can, golf. Those who cant, golf anyway.
Clean, friendly, away-from-it-all course
I like how this course is out in the middle of nowhere. Very country-like simple setting. Spacious fairways and lots of room to work with. Some hills tho and make sure you know your way out of the sand because there's plenty of bunkers to test you.
Overall, we had a great experience here and do recommend Roddy Ranch.
Good course, but not recommended for beginners
Good layout, good condition, very good value. I live in SF, but do drive out from time to time because of the overall good value.
Roddy is a great place to play.
Roddy is a great place to play. It can play tough if you don't hit the fairway. Easy to book and lots of specials.
Excellent course
Great course to play, One of our most favorite in the entire bay area. Staff members are always helpful and pleasant to work with. Course can be extra challenging when the winds are up. Which seems most often. Would highly recommend this course to all golfers Be sure to bring your patience and disipline because both will certainly be tested. But worth every moment.
Challenging course that gets tougher in the wind
Somewhat unusual course layout which will challenge even the best golfers, provided you use the proper tees. 13+ handicappers should use more forward tees and length off tee is a big issue on how the hole is played. Hilly but not unfair.
They strictly enforce "no outside food or beverages" and you can only take a cart on 9 holes!! They close several holes in addition to all the par 3's
Roddy is great!
Only issue for us was slow play...other than that the value was great and the conditions were near perfect.
Great Challenging golf course
Very nice course, well maintained, staff was very nice and greated you and helped with everthing from pro shop to course marshall. The course was tough with wind and having soo many bunkers. Very nice practice area, driving range was awesome and nice putting and chipping areas. They could get a few more carts, had to wait for a cart before teeing off. Was a little disapponted wtih the club house being a trailer since the course is so beatiful.
challenging course
This course has lots of good elevation changes. The greens are well kept and the bunkers are place strategically.
The pace of play can be slow on the weekend, but they have clocks to help keep you on pace and the marshals are present and effective.
I will play this course every chance I get.
This course is comparable to the best courses played by professionals. They should host US open here and others.
True links style course
The course was real busy on Tuesdays as they have a special 4 golfers for $100.00 that day, so play was a little slow. Course was in good condition. It is a challenging course and plays well when winds are light. Very challenging if you hit one of those days when the wind in the Delta Valleys is blowing stronger. Lots of elevation changes and lots of differences in all the holes makes playing this course fun, but challenging. Not really a beginners course but all others will have fun here.
