Nestled at the base of Mount Diablo, Deer Ridge Golf Club wanders through rolling, oak-dappled hills. The course has several challenging holes but the hazards are balanced by more player-friendly elements like wide, forgiving fairways and generous greens. There is also plenty of room off the tees and at just over 6,300 yards it is a manageable length as well. Though it is gentle enough for beginners, the thoughtful routing and hilly terrain keep it interesting for low handicappers. Deer Ridge Golf Club's front nine is more open and slightly less difficult, but the back nine gets a little trickier with more trees and more dramatic elevation changes coming into play. The terrain gives each hole a unique character and different challenges. The wind can also be a major factor. Good course management will be well rewarded.

Too slow. We gave up.
I like this course and play it often. Sometimes, pace of play is acceptable. Other times, like yesterday, it's unacceptable. Are they letting too many people out? Maybe. I personally didn't see a single marshal during the entire round. We gave up after 13 holes, which took *over four hours*.

The course is enjoyable to play
The fairways were in good shape along with the greens. There are some challenging holes for the typical player. You can walk this course but there are a few holes where the distance from green to tee is long.

SHORT COURSE YIELD HIGH SCORE
DON'T let the yardage fool you! This course is a short beast from any tee box. Lots of sandtraps, slick greens, and trouble on every hole. Definitely a keep on the "short grass" course, in order to break 80

Nice course
Course was in good condition, greens were fairly fast & smooth, staff very friendly. Pace of play was a little slow but the course was pretty full don't get happens. I will be back

Average Joe
Sunday morning with friends, pretty much had the course to ourselves. Typical food and refreshments.
Carts were newish with no issues. Had a started to get the morning started on time. We all agreed we will play there again.
Poor Green condition !
we never seen any green condition like this before, they put so much sand over it ! they should warn people for their bookings, love this course layout design, but it just miss management for this course, Terrible experience!

First timer
My wife, 10 yr old son and I played here. No issues playing with a junior, everyone was nice. We teed off at 12:30 pm on a Saturday and everything was going great until hole 12. There was a hack foursome that was holding up the entire course, even us, and made a great little course a questionable replay. The clubhouse was even called and nothing happened!. Great course and layout, but can get way to slow and backed up.
Awesome course
I had to drive a bit @26 miles but after playing there found it was worth it! It's a nice course indeed - almost comparable to Bridges of San Ramon. Wonder why the course was not built par 72 but only 71 while there is so much open unused space! Nevertheless I would recommend friends any day, especially when they are looking to change routine course!
Love this course
One of the best courses in Brentwood. Good price, average pace of play. The course is ivery good condition, a few scruffy spots, and the greenside bunkers could use some real sand, otherwise it's a nice layout.A few holes with some elevation changes. Try it out, I don't think you will be disappointed
