Great course
Whisper Creek has a great layout, the course is well maintained and the people are very friendly. This was my second time playing there in about 10 years and I’m looking forward to the next time I play there.
Love this course!
Just got back from Arizona and this was my first round playing up here under the current conditions ( coronavirus) and the course was in great shape. My only complaint is to please cut down the foam around the pin and make it about 1 to 1-1/2 inch below the top of the cup- the reason is to keep the integrity of the game intact and you still have the ball up high enough where as you can still grab it without reaching down into the hole. The majority of the course’s I played down in Scottsdale had it set up this way. On top of that if people are playing for money or keep a handicap- this allows you to take out the guess work whether or not the ball was in the hole when putting.
End of season
Course was is good condition and played after frost the nite before. Only a few diehards out so play was fast
Disappointed
I've played there since they opened...and I'll never go back. Got hassled for "slow play" on a Sunday morning. Played 18 AND stopped at the turn to eat a bratwurst and grab a beer. Teed off at 7:15 ish, finished at 11:30. Slow play? Don't think so. Certainly didn't deserve to get stalked by the ranger. Will NEVER go back.
Excellent
Course was in good shape consul all the water we got
Bee ranger to be visable 4 some ahead was playing up to 10 shot each
Course is great
Like the lay out of the course a lot the stagered fairways on the par 5s are unique
Favorite course.
Awesome course. Great condition, Wide fairways, challenging water holes, very enjoyable experience overall.
Warning to all golfers
Our foursome had 2 slow foursomes in front of us and back of us. We were warned in the 1st tee of slow play. At the 7th hole a twosome from probably the 6th hole drove. by 1 foursome in back of us and thru our foursome and thru another foursome. We called the manager and Dominic finally came out 1 hole later. We had two foursomes waiting on the 9th tee explaining the twosome went thru both of our groups without asking. Here's the rub: The GM only WARNED the twosome not to do that again. They should have been kicked off the course. I've been playing golf for 45 years and never experienced something like that, or a GM with no common sense to take action to solve the problem. I will never be back. BTW--course conditions are getting really bad. Bare fairways, ball marks all over the greens and the range needs a lot of work. Also the slow play has reached a all-time snails pace.
No starter
This is a fun course. There was no starter, and one member of our group had to call for a ranger. We did not stop after the 9th hole. We went right to the 10th. We had a nice pace going. On the 10th 4 carts 8 guys were between us and the group we followed through the first 9 holes. It appeared that some teenagers jumped on the course. The ranger really didn’t remedy the backup. The ranger should have asked for there recipe. There was a real failure to listen.
Great value, slow play
Played for the first time; great value $29! After 3pm with a cart and my son played free. Tee boxes and greens were in rough shape, according to the young lady on the beverage cart they had two outings that day and the golfers were more concerned about hydrating than repairing ball marks and divots. We played 14 holes before things came to a dead stop with two to three foursomes waiting to tee off on the remaining holes....so we called it quits as the 14 holes took 4+ hours
Nice course but a little slow
I love this course but could use a little help on the pace- well worth the drive- staff were very friendly and helpful. The course was in very good shape.
I like the different holes layouts
Everything about the course I like, except not enough drinking water, or distance posts, on the down side, signing in is terrible, slow and timely, to many ?, I was at desk 20 minutes, I will return but dread signing in process
Great Course, amazing deal
The course is beautiful, and definitely challenging if you have never played here. Course management comes into play often. The fairways are perfect and very soft, and even in late July. The only thing I noticed that could use improvement, was the greens. People need to fix their ball marks, and fix them with care!
Worst Greens Around
It's crazy how bad these greens are. Preserve courses have better greens. I will not pay over $40 to play this course in the future. Just not worth it.
Whisper Creek
The key to this course is being in the first few groups of the day. Otherwise you are looking at 5 hour rounds. Today the course was in great shape. Didn’t see anyone until the 14th hole. Course was generally in great shape except for 8 and 18 which was cart path only. But it’s to be expected with all the rain. I hope the exposed drain tile in some of the bunkers is a sign that whisper Creek is working on the drainage. Green we’re rolling and holding well. Rough was at a manageable length but again with the rain it’s almost impossible to keep up.
