What happened?
Played here 3 or 4 times a year for over 25 years. One of my favorite local courses. Usually in very good shape. Not so right now. Worst conditions I have ever seen at Stoney Creek., especially the greens. Real shame.
What a dump
Sad. This course used to be pretty good but it is in such bad shape due to neglect and under investment by the resort it is a miserable play now. Weeds everywhere, slowest greens ever (in the areas where the aren’t bare spots), unplayable rough due to lack of mowing. You can’t even get a good lie on the tee boxes. Yuck!
Great Course
Great course. Beautiful Mountain Views. Greens are all consistent and in good condition. Worth the trip
Ehh
Greens were bad. No one repairs their divots. Need a ranger on course to speed up play. Bunker sand hard as a rock. If you can play this course for under 50 thats not a bad deal. I would never pay 90 bucks. Scenery is great and course layout is nice.
First Class Facilities
Our foursome from Richmond always enjoys playing StoneyCreek. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in fantastic shape on the Shamokin & Tuckahoe nines.
Wonderful, relaxing course
The course was very well maintained and I loved the way it wound around with the creek which was so relaxing
Beauty in the mountains
Gorgeous course in the mountains of Virginia. Lots of bunkers to grab you. Greens run smooth. Challenging layout with lots of elevation changes.
JB’s first time
Course is in great condition, challenging but fair and fun to play! Starter was good, attentive and friendly. The food afterwards in the Iron and Ale was good, Tabitha are server was great, good knowledge on menu and very friendly and professional!
Very high quality place to play
Very well designed place with everything. Definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about going should go.
Pure
Pure greens for winter golf. Fairways travel nice and rough is still challenging.
Good as always
Stony Creek is always a good round of gold. My only complaint would be the leaves but I guess that’s to be expected this time of year.
