StoneRidge Golf Course

About
Elevation changes are the name of the game here with swings from the tees that could make the most even-keeled soul feel Vertigo. The drop from tee to the fairways is as steep as 350 feet. The stretch of 12 through 15 is particularly height challenging. Designer Randy Heckenkemper likes to compare his course his course to a roller coaster. This for a high season $55 greens fee that wouldn't even be enough to get a ticket into some amusement parks.

One half of course closed
We were not told when we checked in that the first nine holes was closed. So people in front and behind us also went to the First Tee and that construction workers got angry with us for being there. Because of this their course was overbooked and people were backed up and it was a long route. The course itself was not in good condition either. Car communication overall. There was no starter as well as no Ranger all in all it made for a bad experience
Totally Awe Struck!
The course was amazing! Challenging! Peaceful! Anyone that has a chance to play should not pass it up. I live in Litchfield Park and I will drive anytime I can to play there!
Even better this time…
Thrilled to be back at this challenging, undulating layout. Course in terrific condition currently and it is very fun by testing all aspects of your game. Beautiful views too. Only hope they bring the drinking water back soon… (Covid issue?) Thanks for a great afternoon!
Amazing
Wow what an amazing course and layout. It was in great shape. Views are unbelievable from t- box. Can’t wait to play it again.
Must play StoneRidge
I played my first round at StoneRidge and it was amazing. Sunday afternoon no hotter than 80 and clear skies and played solo.
This course was fun and provided just the right amount of difficulty, with 100 + OB to clear for fairway and a fair share of holes that turns left or right. Their par 3's were fun but can be tuff with some trees placements but large well kept greens. There is also a fun but troublesome par 5 to finish on hole 18. The photo is your view at top of the fairway after you tree off.
I can't see any golfer not enjoying this course, money well spent!! I will play again when I'm in town.
Wonderful course and very challenging
Beautiful course. Shoot over canyons. Greens were a bit slow. Plays very well. Would recommend it !!!!
Tough layout
Not your cookie cutter layout. You have to play the yardage to have a chance to hit the fairway. Overall one of the better conditioned courses for PV playing area currently. Was very windy so made it tougher than normal.
One tough course
We played this course three days ago. Today, we had some wind and it changed a difficult course to an extremely difficult course. Bach tees were a stretch today. If you strike the ball consistently well, no problem. I had three drives cost me 9 strokes, however I hit the other 11 fairways. No. 10 is almost impossible, wind or no wind. Only complaint is that greens are not a consistent speed. No. 17 and 18 are much slower than others on the course. No. 16 however is much faster than others. Greens do roll true however and they will hold shots. Just be prepared to lose some balls/strokes if you're not striking the ball well.
Nicest in the area
We're up in Sedona for the week and wanted to play a few rounds of golf. Selected this course but it was about 45 minutes from our resort. The course made the drive well worth the time spent on the road. Very difficult target layout from the tips. One hint, make sure you take/use the course supplied yardage book. It tells you the side of the hole to target as well as distances to noted hazards. Extremely useful. My only complaint about the course was the speed of the greens. While they rolled fairly true, they were very slow up a slope and fairly quick down. Overall speed was slower than desired, but they play well, just hard to judge speeds. Love the course and we'll play it again on this trip.
Would play again!!!
I played here a week earlier & loved it so much, that I rebooked here & brought my wife for her 60th birthday!! She LOVED it also here. Great course & people, we will play it again in Jan hopefully when we return from MA.
