About
del Lago Golf Club sits at an elevation of 3,400 feet, enjoying a temperature that is five degrees cooler than Tucson in the summer, which makes a big difference under the hot Arizona sun. Winding through the hills and valleys of the high desert, the golf course features over 120 feet of elevation changes that present tricky uneven lies. The dramatic undulations also offer beautiful views of the Rincon and Santa Catalinas Mountain ranges. Golfers start at the highest point on the course and then play down into the valley before getting to the back nine, which plays along the Pantano Wash. The first hole is the only forced carry on the course, the remaining holes are friendlier off the tees. Seven lakes dot the golf course, coming into play on six holes, and there is also heavy bunkering around the greens.

Great Staff
I left my range finder attached to the cart. I didn’t notice for two days. I called the course just in case it was turned in. Thinking there is no chance someone would turn it in. To my surprise it was there. I believe it was the young person cleaning carts was the one who found it. He is obviously a very upstanding young man. I really appreciate your honesty. I wish there were more people out there like him.
Sadly I did the same thing two years ago and did not have the same outcome.

Great layout.! Needs some TLC.
As a golfer that loves a challenge I just love the layout of the golf course.!
I played from the black tees and it was awesome and it really makes you play different shot shapes if you’re capable.
Some of the fairways are narrow and some landing zones are intimidating from the tee. Great placement of strategically placed bunkers and water hazards. The greens were not the best I’ve played on though they were faster than they looked.
The grass was a little shaggy looking and a bit bumpy. But.. they had a great amount of undulations. They were at times difficult to read the breaks. I was only in two bunkers but they all were lacking of sand. Actually they were more dirt like than sand. Very hard packed.
It’s easy to see that maintenance money is lacking here as the cart paths are very rough and eroded in places. Bunkers all need sand.
Greens could be a little better.
Despite all the negatives about the bunkers and cart paths you will enjoy playing this course. It’s worth paying $50-70 for your round. It’s such a well laid out track with great views from elevated tees and the surrounding areas.
I’ve played on big wide open fairways with no rough or trouble. They’re pretty mundane. This course makes you think off the tee and the greens are challenging.

Wow
Course is fabulous. No hole is the same and views are amazing. Greens rolled the and were in great shape. Wildlife everywhere, even saw some deer. One of the best public courses in Tucson area. And traps need some work but everything else about the course made them bearable.

Great fairways
The fairways were in great shape. Greens were in good shape but several had damage from equipment but overall very playable. The sand traps were impossible. Super wet, standing water in several, and tons of rocks. Almost unplayable. Still a great time and good value.

Great layout, sporty resort style course.
Layout is a lot of fun. Conditions are good for the price.
Friendly staff. They have a starter and enough staff to provide good service. The par 5’s stand out, especially 17.
