About
del Lago Golf Club sits at an elevation of 3,400 feet, enjoying a temperature that is five degrees cooler than Tucson in the summer, which makes a big difference under the hot Arizona sun. Winding through the hills and valleys of the high desert, the golf course features over 120 feet of elevation changes that present tricky uneven lies. The dramatic undulations also offer beautiful views of the Rincon and Santa Catalinas Mountain ranges. Golfers start at the highest point on the course and then play down into the valley before getting to the back nine, which plays along the Pantano Wash. The first hole is the only forced carry on the course, the remaining holes are friendlier off the tees. Seven lakes dot the golf course, coming into play on six holes, and there is also heavy bunkering around the greens.

Great layout, sporty resort style course.
Layout is a lot of fun. Conditions are good for the price.
Friendly staff. They have a starter and enough staff to provide good service. The par 5’s stand out, especially 17.

Does Golf Pass Have a Problem?
I last played this course almost a year ago and now Golf Pass is asking for a review of my round there. What makes it even worse is that I did not make the tee time. A friend of mine did and I played as part of his foursome.
I am concerned that Golf Pass has had its data breached and someone else is using my account.
Meh. Even with Hot Deal price, needs more attention to maintenance and improvement
Below is what we wrote to the golf shop, not sure if they received this, because never heard back, indicative of whether they are customer oriented:
We played del Lago yesterday and were very disappointed. Many tee boxes are pretty chewed up. Fairways are splotchy looking like not enough attention or material was used in overseeding. Greens are slow and also spotty in places. Sand dispensers in the carts were empty (discovered on the second fairway when we went to fill a divot...how do you expect golfers to maintain or try and fix fairways and divots without sand in their carts?) Sand traps should be ground under repair, you can hear the gravel when you rake and it is so rocky you don't leave footprints. Fountain on the signature hole was again not in use and the whole area of the water on the last hole literally STINKS like sewage, not a good reflection of your signature hole as you end a round. And your price is higher than some courses like San Ignacio in Green Valley?
The course lay out is so wonderful it could be premier, a joy to play. The staff was nice. Overall, we just regret the drive and playing it. Needs lots to bring it back to what it was many years ago. Pretty full tee sheet, but maybe because those who live close don't have any other choices in the nearby area. If you have to drive a long way to get there, don't bother.

Good but not great
Played this course many times. Tee boxes, greens, and fairway in good shape but as usual the bunkers are trash. Until they actually put sand in the bunkers I can't give the course better than a 3/5. Bunkers will put gashes in your sand wedge from large rocks laying under the dirt on some holes. I don't play bunkers here bucause they haven't added any sand to them in 8 years. Course plays narrow but can be fun if you hit straight.

Tight fairways
This is a good course for the money. The fairways are kind of tight and doglegs in both directions so you have to draw of fade the ball of the tee box in most of the holes. lots of bunkers and water hazards to contend with also.
putting surface was excellent and a good pace. I would say a 10 on the stimp meter.

The Course was in very good condition green fast and roll great tee box not bad at all fairways very nice but the bunker , were in very bad condition almost no sand and fill with rocks in most case you had to take drop out of the bunker because of the condition of them

Excellence at del Lago!
This course is the best that I have played recently. Tees, fairways, greens were all in very good repair and the layout of the holes provides challenge in that the golfer must continually assess the risk/reward factor, which enhances the entire experience. I just wish there were more "Hot Deals" at del Lago... I would make the 35 minute drive in a heartbeat were there more specials. The staff in the pro shop, the starter and the cart person were all friendly and effective. Superb!

Course was in pretty good shape with the exception of bunkers and some tee boxes need work.
