About
del Lago Golf Club sits at an elevation of 3,400 feet, enjoying a temperature that is five degrees cooler than Tucson in the summer, which makes a big difference under the hot Arizona sun. Winding through the hills and valleys of the high desert, the golf course features over 120 feet of elevation changes that present tricky uneven lies. The dramatic undulations also offer beautiful views of the Rincon and Santa Catalinas Mountain ranges. Golfers start at the highest point on the course and then play down into the valley before getting to the back nine, which plays along the Pantano Wash. The first hole is the only forced carry on the course, the remaining holes are friendlier off the tees. Seven lakes dot the golf course, coming into play on six holes, and there is also heavy bunkering around the greens.

Terrible
Course was subpar for this time of year, bunkers are unplayable, greens are beat to heck, and the staff couldn’t have been worse. Very disappointed I paid that much for that course this time of year to be treated as if I got a free round.

dont go
course layout was quite fun, but the complete disregard for bunkers was obvious. no sand in a sand trap? for 18 holes? rocks and hard pan. what a joke.

Course need TLC
The Del Lago Golf Course has one of the best layouts in Tucson. However, the course conditions are far below average and need improvement. On the positive side, the greens and fairways are in playable shape. On the other hand, the bunkers are unplayable. Most players either rack a smooth spot to play from after removing a handful of rocks or just take the ball out of the bunker completely The carts paths are failing apart, full of holes and provide a rather uncomfortable rough ride. The general appearance of the course is messy, bordering on trashy. There are severely worn areas between the cart paths and fairway caused by constant cart traffic. There is no control of where carts drive and thus there are path trails between bunkers, beside greens and across desert areas. In addition, they have been cutting back the desert brush in many areas and stacking the cuttings along the cart paths, tee boxes, and fairways. These piles have existed for months and just seem to be getting bigger. They are an eyesore and now a great place for snakes to hide. Finally in summary: I would say it is very obvious that the course ownership and general management don't care about the course. Their combined neglect is disrespecting what could be a premium golf course in Tucson. As it stands today, golf at one of the city muni's is a much better golf value.

Beautiful course
Cart paths need some work. We would play it more often if it wasn't so exspensive. I notice almost every tee time in afternoon is still available. Other courses lower their rates around noon.

Del Lago is one of my favorite courses in Tucson. The layout is excellent and fun. The bunkers need work and more sand. But the grands and fairways are very good.

Traps need work
Traps need sand and grooming. Otherwise course is very playable.

Interesting layout
Tees, fairways and greens were in good shape. Bunkers had little or no sand. It was very windy and that impacted play. Pace of play was ok on the front, but waited on every hole on the back.

Great condition
Greens were a little slower than we liked but rolled very nice. Fun course to play.

Improved conditions
I haven't played here for a couple of years, primarily because the price seemed to increase over the past couple of years. Booked and played on a hot deal.
Conditions seemed greatly improved since last time I played. Greens firm but no bare spots.
Clubhouse and bar staff friendly and professional.
Friendly starter gave my friend who hadn't played here before tips on some of the trickier holes. Busy day, but peace still decent.
