Great shape except for the traps like many courses

Costs more to play like all courses

Beverage cart person was very good

Facilities inside were closed ..Covid

The pro shop was not open to public only a window to pay. The golf cart paths could be greatly improved. The greens were very challenging.

The map it that was on your web site was very wrong. We ended up in a subdivision about 6 miles away. Lucky I had copied the address and could goggle map it. Got there just in time. We had this happen also when we played Dove Mountain. We will not rely on your web site maps, which is too bad.

This course is a fun challenge for a 12 handicapper like myself. The course was in amazing shape and has really good greens for the season. They are soft and not anywhere as fast as most courses in Tucson. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in very good shape but as mentioned in other reviews, the bunkers are not the best and contained lots of rocks. Don't let the bunkers be a determining factor as the course as a whole is simply great. I would definitely recommend this.

But the course was great. The layout, the condition and the greens were awesome. The people I joined were very nice as well. The starter was nice. The only negative was the lack of better sand in bunkers. Only had one shot out of them, so wasn’t too bad. I definitely recommend this course.

Had never played the course before. There was a huge frost delay but they managed to get us in right at our scheduled tee time. Starter gave us a few pointers about which tee boxes to play and off we went. The course is in excellent shape and is very challenging, but since we played from forward tees it was very enjoyable. The next time would be even more fun now that I have seen how to play several holes. My friend was visiting from St. Louis and had great time. Would definitely recommend this course. Pace of play was a little slow but we finished in about 4 and 1/2 hours. The club house was closed so we couldn’t see the off course amenities.

There are numerous reviews about the ongoing problems with bunkers having little or no sand...

The cart paths are getting worse all the time. Beats up the carts and beats up the players.

Course layout:

They place the tee markers in the most insane manner... frequently within 2 feet from the very back of the tee box. You hardly have room for your back foot, sometimes no room for a backswing. On 14, I've seen the tee blocks pointed at Denver, not the fairway. On 13 they sometimes tuck them so far to the right, you can only see 1/3 of the green. Obviously, the people doing this have never played golf and/or they don't care. I have no idea if there is any training done by management, or if management cares.

Pin positions are frequently way too difficult for the public.: If it's a front pin on # 9, it's usually placed way left on the slopey drop off. There's miniscule chance for an average player to get an approach shot under the hole.. therefore lots of 3 and 4 putts. Just an example - there are lots of other tough pin positions on the course they favor, and some days they do it throughout the course. Some tough pin placements per day is okay, but what this course does to the public frequently is a big contributor to rounds that go 5 hours or longer, and is not fun for a lot of people.

Interesting layout and impressive course conditions with one glaring exception: The traps are unplayable -- at least they were for me on this day. Quality of sand/conditioning are the issues. Starter said course has budget for improvements, but sand is in short supply due to demands of residential development. Still one of our favorite courses and well worth the drive to Vail.

There’s no sand in the bunkers , but we were told they couldn’t get sand at this time. It was fine with us , so we just picked it up and kept playing.

We enjoy the beautiful course, but too much constructions and noises around that are very distracting.

Overall course was not bad, greens ran true and fast. Fairways were okay only downfall is bunkers. Highly recommend some type of sand in the bunkers as it looks like they just filled them with dirt from the desert.
