About
del Lago Golf Club sits at an elevation of 3,400 feet, enjoying a temperature that is five degrees cooler than Tucson in the summer, which makes a big difference under the hot Arizona sun. Winding through the hills and valleys of the high desert, the golf course features over 120 feet of elevation changes that present tricky uneven lies. The dramatic undulations also offer beautiful views of the Rincon and Santa Catalinas Mountain ranges. Golfers start at the highest point on the course and then play down into the valley before getting to the back nine, which plays along the Pantano Wash. The first hole is the only forced carry on the course, the remaining holes are friendlier off the tees. Seven lakes dot the golf course, coming into play on six holes, and there is also heavy bunkering around the greens.

Course us in great condition, greens are a bit slow
Appears to be after the re-seeding. Fairways are fluffy and not much roll but great shape. Greens are a bit slow. Can’t believe carts do not have a GPS. And bathrooms are in a mini trailer

Bar
We teed off at 11am, round went fine, cart girl told us she was calling it a day. no problem. we got done about 330pm.
we went into the bar for a drink, ran into a very rude bartander. it's about 20min to 4pm. The bar was supposed to close at 4. He told me he already did last call very rudelly. I didnt appreciate it. he must think that just because i was a hispanic that he could talk to me any way he wanted. The kitchen was closed and the bar is closed for drinks which it was all that we wanted. Your sign said close at 4pm not 330.

Challenging but fair
Good layout, greens in very good condition. Fairways were very acceptable.
Bunkers were in terrible condition, just a thin layer of sand and rocks. Very unplayable.
They all need definite reshaping and reconstruction. Many of them from a maintenance standpoint have to be a nightmare for the maintenance staff.

Very Green
The Course was great but I would recommend having someone who has played the course go with you. You have to ride and even if they would let you walk you would not want to. It can be far from the tee box to the fairway because the boxes are up on the hills. Other than that the course was great the only issue that dropped the rating down was the greens were real slow and "shaggy". Not sure if they were prepping them for the winter or not but you really had to hit it to get the ball there. I will play here again.

The Good The Bad and yes a little of the Ugly
My review has a little bit of everything: The good, the bad and yes a little of the ugly
I have been a member on and off since 2006 and love the layout of the golf course. I am super excited that there are plans to fix our sand traps as they are the last item I can identify that requires attention. Until the traps are redone I would NOT come out and play as your wedges will show some scarring as there are simply way to many rocks.
From a customer service perspective both the starters and the folks behind the counter could use some training in customer service but I have made that statement to leadership for years with no action so I have given up on that topic.
Golf is competitive in Tucson and we need to strive to always get better and I would like to point out that the greens super and his team have done an amazing job during some very challenging times, from supply chain issues to COVID and for one I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Last day before overseed
Was pleasantly surprised course was in pretty good condition. (Overseeding tomorrow). One bad tee box, and several gravelly bunkers, but fairways and greens were very good

Stay out of the bunkers
Unless you wish to dent up your clubs, stay out of the bunkers. There is more rocks in the bunkers than the sand in the wash in my back yard. Other than that, it was all good. The greens were a little slow but then most all greens are slow this time of year. I wish this course were close to my house just for the practice facilities.
