Contraband Bayou Golf Club At L'Auberge Du Lac

The course has great features and is a good layout but the condition of the greens was poor. A number of the greens were covered with what we call crow's foot. A foreign grass common to the south.

We were treated very well and appreciated the frozen towels and the cart girl.

Very nice course big fairways greens are good size the only problem with them was they had just been punched and sanded. The day we played it had been raining most of the week and the morning we played so the course was really wet and would stop the ball as soon as it hit the ground no run out so it made a long course really long. other then that the course is laid out and marked well. The rate of play was good never had anyone waiting on us and we never caught up with anyone in front of us.

Course was in poor condition. Greens were average sand bunkers were in horrible shape. Wish I had known this before I booked

Loved the course! Will be returning. The only complaint I have is being a single player behind a group of 6 , really REALLY slowed me down .

After playing at this course, I can not wait to play it again. This is one of my favorites in the area. Staff members are friendly and very helpful. The course was in great condition. It fairways are wide and greens are large, very easy to get up and down, very nice place to build your game.

We played a day after pretty heavy rain. Carts on path on first hole only, and it really was only wet in a couple of spots. The course is very pretty, with plenty of water as is typical in southwest LA. The carts have sophisticated GPS that shuts you down in no travel areas, gives yardages and hazards, even flyover views. The course seems to play long from the white tees. We typically drive 240-260 and a lot of approaches on par 4s were 190-210. The only negatives were the sand traps which were very wet and hard packed with gravel to some degree in most. The ball washers were in bad shape and several need to be replaced. Other than that, it was five stars all around. Great greens and nice fairways.

Great day of golf with my wife. Traffic on the course was light, so we could take our time. We were impressed with the GPS units on the carts (no guessing yardage) My wife was more impressed with the on-course rest stations, ice water, iced towels, and air conditions restrooms.

The only negative for us was the bunkers. It either rained recently or they are close to sprinkler heads.

Although it was early March the course was in pretty good shape. Carts were very nice and the staff was very polite. Enjoyed the day and would recommend the course for all. We will play it again.

From the moment I arrived until my departure I was super impressed with my entire experience. The staff was extremely friendly, practice facility was well manicured, and the fairways and greens were perfect. Thanks again for an amazing day.

I went down to Lake Charles for one of my buddies bach parties and we played Contraband and I was very impressed with this golf course. I have played a lot of courses around the southern US especially in TX, AR and LA. This course was in fantastic condition and the grasses everywhere were spectacular to hit from. The greens were smooth and consistent and the ball rolled great. Fairways and tee boxes were some of the best I've played on. We got rained on basically the entire round and although it wasn't heavy, the course drained very well and there were only a couple of areas that played a little muddy. This is definitely a course I would like to visit again. I can't say enough about the staff working there. They were incredibly nice and willing to help. We hit balls at a nice range before and there was a large putting green to get some short game practice on before our round. Highly recommend this course if ever in the area. My only negative was the bunkers. It was raining so they were a little muddy but the sand also had quite a bit of pea gravel type rocks in it which I chose to avoid hitting out of. Overall a great course I hope to get to play again soon.

well it turned out to be the most perfect day i have had, and having my wife with me made it even better. The course was great regardless the rain during the week. thank you

Great layout, amenities are fantastic, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure you are happy and treated as if your worth a million dollars. The GPS System in the carts are great. The only complaint was pace of play, had a group of 8 and they were to only play 5 players and play best ball which did not happen. There should be better monitoring of large groups while playing.
