Contraband Bayou Golf Club At L'Auberge Du Lac

Was disappointed by the course. Highlight was the very friendly and efficient pro shop staff.

To start, the range wasn't set up when we arrived and still wasn't when we teed off at our start time.

Due to the extreme rain over the past week, wasn't expecting great course conditions, but they were better than expected though the greens were quite slow.

The trouble was the course design. First 8 holes weren't much more intriguing than your average muni. Starting with hole 9, the layout became a bit better. But the greens were not very interesting. All in all, probably the least impressive of the 20+ Fazio courses I've played.

Have not played any other courses in the Lake Charles area, so don't have anything to compare to from a value proposition. But for $49, I would recommend giving it a shot but keep your expectations fairly low.

The golf ourse is challenging and fair. Bad shots punish you and good shots are rewarded. Great day playing with my son. Amenities met expectations and the staff was courteous. Thank you!

Found a HOT DEAL, & was concerned that the deal was too good to be true. Everything from the bag-drop attendant thru out the day was TOP NOTCH! The (adult beverages) on the course we're well worth $6 per drink, I was enjoying the prices! Overall course conditions were good, few bare spots on greens but not a deal breaker. This is a high end $45 course, be sure to look for the HOT DEALS.

Everything here is on the up and up! Great course and Great conditions! Carts and their GPS yardage is on the money! We had a great day and planety to drink with the cart girl making quick rounds! I'll be back soon.....

Staff was very courteous and friendly. Fairways in great shape. Greens had some spotty issues but very playable. Would definitely recommend to others.

Staying in the fairway on this course is a huge advantage. I knocked at least 7 strokes off my score, thanks in large part to the conditions of the fairway.

3-some with my sons. Will play here again, no doubt. Course was in perfect condition. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Plenty of amenities.

Excellent course had a great time. The golf carts are equipped with touch screen and GPS. The snack/beer cart came by often. Had a great time and I'm looking forward to playing again soon!

Very fair course, wide fairways. Greens were just punched and sanded but we're playable. Would play there again.

The lady at the counter was very professional.Upon telling her that I had a tee time from golf now she immediately check my confirmation thru her computer.

The starter immediately accompanied me and brief me about course.I started playing 2 hrs. ahead of my tee time.

The course was in excellent condition and very nice people managing the course.

I can not wait to play this course again ... hopefully it will be good weather next time. The weather was not good at all we had to sit and wait at several holes for the rain to slack to finish the hole. After waiting several time we just gave up and headed home. Only played 13 holes. That is the reason for the fair rating on the course condition.

Everything about the course is fine except the greens which should be the foremost focus of any golf course manager. Some weeds were moving in on some greens and others didn't putt smoothly at all. Nothing more frustrating than stroking a putt and see bounce a few inches into the roll.

The front 9 is long and wide, while the back 9 is a little tight, but fun. Carts with GPS and concession cart puts the course over the top. Friendly staff and beautiful scenery. Look out for gators!!

This course runs along the bayou in front of L'Auberge Casino. It provides a pretty outdoor break from the casino. The layout is mostly flat, but there are plenty of sand traps and water features to give the holes some variety. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was a Monday, so I had the course almost to myself. The one drawback was that the greens had just been dressed and heavily sanded. They were quite slow. The electric cart with GPS was smooth and helpful around the course. I'll play here again when there is a "Hot Time " on Golf Now, though I'll try to avoid Monday.

Always play this course when over at the casinos. Love the layout and staff is always nice. You can usually get a great deal on golfnow for the course.
