Contraband Bayou Golf Club At L'Auberge Du Lac

The lady at the counter was very professional.Upon telling her that I had a tee time from golf now she immediately check my confirmation thru her computer.

The starter immediately accompanied me and brief me about course.I started playing 2 hrs. ahead of my tee time.

The course was in excellent condition and very nice people managing the course.

I can not wait to play this course again ... hopefully it will be good weather next time. The weather was not good at all we had to sit and wait at several holes for the rain to slack to finish the hole. After waiting several time we just gave up and headed home. Only played 13 holes. That is the reason for the fair rating on the course condition.

Everything about the course is fine except the greens which should be the foremost focus of any golf course manager. Some weeds were moving in on some greens and others didn't putt smoothly at all. Nothing more frustrating than stroking a putt and see bounce a few inches into the roll.

The front 9 is long and wide, while the back 9 is a little tight, but fun. Carts with GPS and concession cart puts the course over the top. Friendly staff and beautiful scenery. Look out for gators!!

This course runs along the bayou in front of L'Auberge Casino. It provides a pretty outdoor break from the casino. The layout is mostly flat, but there are plenty of sand traps and water features to give the holes some variety. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was a Monday, so I had the course almost to myself. The one drawback was that the greens had just been dressed and heavily sanded. They were quite slow. The electric cart with GPS was smooth and helpful around the course. I'll play here again when there is a "Hot Time " on Golf Now, though I'll try to avoid Monday.

Always play this course when over at the casinos. Love the layout and staff is always nice. You can usually get a great deal on golfnow for the course.

We had no idea what type of course we would find in Lake Charles, LA but were totally impressed with Contraband Bayou Golf Club.

The staff was extremely friendly upon arrival and throughout the entire day. Kudos to all of them from the young men at Bag drop, starter, pro shop staff and beverage cart girls….yes they had a beverage cart available for the entire round, actually two of them which was a welcomed surprise.

The course was in impeccable shape. Greens were in very good shape and true albeit a little slow but that was due to days of rain that week. Great pace of play all day long and that helped make the round even more pleasurable.

As we are attempting to complete playing at least one round of golf in each of the 50 states, my wife and I are very proud to place Contraband Bayou as the Louisiana representative. The price may be a little high for some but you do get what you pay for at this course.

Worth the trip and money. Look forward to playing there again

This course is a blast and fun for all levels I love Fazio courses. A must play in Lske Charles.

this is a great course for a beginner to an advanced golfer. Its a playable course that offers a challenge to every level of golfer. The course was in great condition and the greens were rolling great. Look for hot deals on this course, its worth it.

Course is always in good shape and usually not too crowded but other than on the first tee you never see a marshal. The last couple of times we played the course, it has bunched up and got really slow. There were plenty of open holes but no marshal to break up the jam. Ruins the round.

The young lady at the club house service desk was very personable and professional. Your Starter Gary was extremely friendly and accommodating making my round more enjoyable. Greens were over seeded so a bit slow and spongy but rolled pretty true given that. Wide fairways and sufficient tees accommodate the range of handicaps you must get. Thoroughly enjoyed the round even in a 15 MPH+ wind.

this course was in pretty good condition considering the weather had been horrible for the last 3 days and a large golf outing prior to our play. but the biggest accolade I have for this course has to be for the entire staff here, especially for the manager Jenny F. we were hungry before the round and so asked what they had and since they don't have a place for hot food at the clubhouse she just asked us what we were in the mood for and picked it up from a restaurant in the casino while we warmed up on the range. I saw them treat everyone there with the same backbreaking courtesy. very impressed and will definitely be playing here again when we come back.

YOU WILL ENJOY THIS GREAT LAYOUT AND BESIDES THAT THE AWESOME AFFORDABLE PRICING , BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO PLAY SMART SO ENJOY YOUR ROUND AND HAVE LUNCH ACROSS THE STREET AT LU'BERGE CASINO OR THEIR AWESOME BUFFET SO MAKE A DAY OF IT GUY'S ENJOY !

great golf course especially with a deal 25$ to play before noon.

Was wet and wintery but enjoyable. Course is well designed and even though you're in the middle of activity, the course feels isolated or well buffered.
Fazio did a lot with a smallish tract.
