Golfers can truly experience High Sierra golf at its finest at Coyote Moon Golf Course in Truckee, not far from the busting town of Reno. Located more than 6,000 feet above sea level, Coyote Moon is a delight for the senses, as the well-maintained fairways lead to blissful, panoramic views.
Part of what makes Reno and the High Sierras an outstanding golf destination, Coyote Moon was designed by former PGA Tour pro Brad Bell. This is a course that will challenge every level of golfer, and many make sure their vacation plans include a stop at this wilderness wonderland of a golf course.
With 18 scenic holes that overlook the Sierra Nevada ridgeline, Coyote Moon Golf Course gives players a true challenge. Because while the high altitudes will add distance to drives, the many trees will add a serious challenge, as will Trout Creek, which meanders throughout the course, With great service and conditions, Coyote Moon is a High Sierra gem.

Willy Coyote Moon
Great course and great staff make for a great golf day. Then when your driving along you get to see a lot of the local wildlife.
Great layout
Great track. Much easier to get a tee time than Incline Village. Wildlife abounds: frequent encounters with coyotes, many deer grazing, and 2 bucks shared the 5th tee with us.
Greens are soft and fast. Fairways and rough we’ll manicured. Mostly open for those with occasional errant tee shots.
Coyotes Amore
Never played a course like it. Coyotes, Deer, squirrels, and chipmunks. Beautiful landscape and course design. It helps to have played the course a few times for course layout.
Awesome course
The course was in great condition. Beautiful vistas. Every hole is amazing. The overall course is challenging but fair. The putting green was especially cool. The only down side was the kitchen closes early.
Lovely, but tough for a lady golfer!
I loved playing Coyote Moon, such a beautiful, well maintained course. Also loved seeing all the chipmunks, deer, and yes, even a coyote!
I did not like teeing off from the same tees as the men in my group though. They were playing the white/gold combo, and I always teed off from the gold which where the farthest forward. It was a little discouraging but the men were good sports about the fact that it took me two shots to catch up to them sometimes.
Wild life
Enjoy your round abundant wild life to scene. Greens are SLOW but true to the roll no bumps or divots very well maintained. Looking forward to going back

Excellent layout. Back nine is one of a kind. Greens are too slow for a top caliber course like this one.

Beautiful course, would definitely play again next time in the area.
A lot of money to not have a driving range
Only had two mats to hit in to a net. For a course this nice and pricey I would expect something better
