DarkHorse Golf Club

Haven't played here in 6 months. They now have brand new carts with GPS. Only downside to the GPS was they won't let you drive in restricted areas, which is OK, but I had it stop one while I was at the edge of the fairway and no where near any marked area. Conditions real good, greens smooth and fast. No water in bunkers, but a few were a little too wet for my taste. This would be nice for the fairway bunkers but the wet ones always seemed to be the greenside ones. Overall, an enjoyable experiance.

Came early to warm up at 8:15am and the range was closed for a hour for them to pick up balls? Range balls were in very poor condition!!! Such a nice course to not have a club house or food. They only had a shack to check in and a hotdog cart after the ninth hole.

Course could use maintenance- - rough was way too long and sand traps with water. Probably won’t come back until the course gets up to speed.

Having played DH (Darkhorse) since it's original opening...I've played through 'the best of times' and 'worst of times' The course is not quite to it's original playing conditions - but the new ownership continues to make steady and noticeable strides Going Back to The Future. Bringing - DH back to it's original and amazing condition.

Couple take-aways;

- Please do not allow walkers during heavy play - IE: Weekends. The courses terrain is not fitted for walkers - Several tee boxes are far apart - walking eats us too much time...even the most well conditioned walker will be challenged.

- Have a Marshall on the course during the weekend - pace of play can be greatly improved with someone managing those foursomes who seem 'less aware' of 'ready golf'...

Looking forward to playing DH even more this summer - let's keep up the progress DH team!

Fantastic conditions. This course is absolutely pure right now. It was my first time playing, and I’ll definitely be back. Nice range with top tracer tech. Pace of play was average, but the course is totally worth it. Newer carts with GPS and Bluetooth capabilities. I do wish they had a clubhouse with more food options, but that’s the only flaw I can find.

Spectacular Golf Experience and course layout was incredible. Dark Horse is a must play!

A place to play golf and use most of your clubs. Bring at least a dozen balls if you can’t hit straight

The course was amazing. The staff were also great.

I have always enjoyed this course for the layout and of course the pebble beach sand bunkers. The lack of a clubhouse just seems odd. The course was in good shape, greens were a little slow. Overall a good experience.

The course was like I said in the "review title" EXCELLENT!! The fairway marvelous, and the putting greens my group cannot stop talking about how smooth they were. The layout of the course, friendly staff were above & beyond. We will be back!

Challenging pin placements added a few strokes….

This was by far one of the most enjoyable courses I've ever played. Top 5 easy! Only course i can readily recall is Lajitas Resort near Big Bend. This had the same feel. Greens were impeccable, & rolled very true. @7200yds it did not feel long at all. Bunkers, bunkers, bunkers. Very well guarded greens and layup shots. Fairways were very accessible from the tee. Course knowledge will definitely go a long long way here as tee shots wreak havoc on your eyes picking a target. Challenging par 3's a tuff par 5's make for a memorable day.
