Overall the course is in excellent condition. Greens excellent, very puttable. Hole #11 is just a beast, bogey here feels like a birdie. Course very playable from the white tees. Will definately be back

Loved the course. Well laid out. Beautiful. Great practice range.

Played on a very hot day. Water coolers were all empty even though we played early. Would have been nice if they were checked and filled.

This is an update to my previous review on July 8th, 2022.

The bunkers have been restored to their prestine conditions which in turn earns a 5 star review for course conditions and my overall rating. Additionally, it appears someone took the time to clean the toilets! Way to go Darkhorse! I can hardly wait for the new carts to be delivered. Keep up the good work. Consider setting off bug bombs in the bathrooms a few times a year to manage the spiders and spider webs and setting out some garbage cans and ball washers.

This was our first time at this course, it won’t be our last. The staff was also very friendly.

The course is in better and better shape every time I play there. The owner clearly wants the golfer to have a quality golf experience.

Great layout. Great warmup facilities. Hot food at the turn waiting for you. Greens putt true. Tee selection to challenge every handicap level.

Go play... you won’t be sorry.

Lots of elevation changes, beautiful holes, and challenging. I liked the top tracer set up for the driving range too. No clubhouse though so bring your own food and drink.

Course could use a few more carts. Folks working very nice! Wonderful day, will not be disappointed. Bring your own Food and Drink and you will love it.

This course rated #1 in California back in the day. They take very good care of it. It is very hilly. Each hole has its nuances. I normally score 80's, but here I was 110 from blacks.

Special note are the greens, must read which way the grains grow - fast this way, slow that way. Oh my, so many 3 puts.

5.5 hiur rounds are brutal. The group two tees in front of us were ridiculously slow. I was told by a woman in the group just ahead of us the guys in front of them were playing two balls each. You need a ranger to make the rounds and tell grips to pick up the pace.

On a better note, the course was in good shape. The couple of times my ball went in the bunker there was a fair amount of sand, making it reasonable to hit out of.

Last time I played there was no beer angel, but this time they had one and she was very personable. The selection is limited but much appreciated having it over nothing.

Also the upgrade to the driving facility is a great add.

Overall I really like this course and will play again. Just wish it were closer to me...45-50 minutes away.

Darkhorse Golf Course has always been my favorite golf course in the area. The new Top Tracer is a great addition and the fairways and greens are in great condition and they are constantly improving water ways and the on course visual appearance. Unfortunately, they are failing to maintain their recently renovated beautiful bunkers by allowing weeds and grass to grow in them, and keep up the maintenance on the private practice facility, what a shame. The golf carts are in desperate need of replacement, there's no trash cans available on the tee boxes or ball washers. The ammenities available are minimal at best unless you like hotdogs and beer. Complete lack of a pro shop (retail is where they could make more revenue), so make sure you have everything you need before you arrive. There is definitely room for improvement in the bathroom cleanliness department. For those who are only interested in playing golf and don't care much about anything else, it's a great course to play.

It just keeps getting better.

Overall this place is one of the best in the area with well kept fairways, the fluffiest sandiest traps about and greens that defy gravity.

Get there and play.

Food options are limited at the moment so pack a lunch.

Had a good time, course conditions are the best in the area. The only problem was the incredibly slow pace of play. The twosome in front of us were sharing clubs and spending forever to search for balls. No course marshal to speed them along the entire round.
