Indian Wells Golf Resort - Players Course
About
The Players Course is one of two championship courses at Indian Wells Golf Resort, both of which are ranked in the top 20 golf courses in California. Opened in 2007, the course is still young but the landscape's existing trees were carefully incorporated into the layout to give it a more mature feel. The terrain has many assets to offer a round of golf, including plenty of water features and elevation changes. The challenging layout is complete with meticulously sculpted bunkers. It is a scenic course too with lush, well manicured fairways accented by colorful flowers and meandering streams. The design also takes advantage of the stunning views of the surrounding Santa Rosa, San Jacinto, and San Bernardino mountains ranges. To the south, Eisenhower Mountain serves as a breathtaking backdrop.

Excellent course
First time playing this course. Wife and I found the course in excellent condition tee to greens. Next year we will play the other course there. Several challenging holes with some blind tee shots kept things interesting.
Great place to play!
A friend and I traveled from Phoenix to play both Indian Wells Courses. All I can say is wow! They were both great tracks. I personally preferred the players course but the celebrity course was more scenic and resort style. From the moment we entered the facility you can tell everyone truly wants you to have a great time. The golf staff (inside and out) was amazing and top shelf in all ways. I will absolutely be back to play both of these gems!
Last Round of the Year
Last round I played on my year end golf trip to Palm Springs. As always great service upon arrival and through our tee off. Range was open even though it was cold and shortly after sun rise. The course has been reopened for about a month since the fall over seeding and the fairways and greens were in great shape. Rough was brown but no complaints on my end for that. Challenging layout but enjoyable round. Looking forward to playing here again next year.
Indian Wells players course
This is the 2nd time I have played here. It's an excellent course. I have played both blue and white tees, both offer a very good challenge. We had full access with the cart which is very important, so check before you play. The beer cart had a good deal on beer, another bonus.
I would go back for sure. The staff all over are very friendly.
Player Course
As advertised tight fairways small greens. New rye coming in nicely. Super friendly staff. Loved the starter on Players
Enjoyed the course
Haven't played here in over 9 years. Loved the course , pace of play slow due to cart path only. Hope to play it again next year.
Nice layout
Nice layout. Liked the in cart gps. It gives exact yardages and hole layout. Spectacular views. Played the intermediate tees at a little over 6500 yards. Greens were a little slow but smooth. If you know where Indio is, you can read the green better
Great golf
A great course with great views. Greens were a little slow for my liking but no impact in the joy of playing. Nothing can beat Celebrity but this is a close second.
Indian Wells Players Course
I played this course today (9/18) and had a great time. The staff was great, the course was in great condition and the weather was great (early morning).
Players @ IW
Played the Orange Tees (6538/71.6/130) with Matt, Perry and Ron in around 4.5H mid day. The weather was over 110, muggy, clear and fairly calm. Thanks to Johnny for setting this up and for IW for having us out!
Really like this John Fought layout that features 7 sets of well spaced tees. Par 72 (37-35). The course is a good mixture of flat and rolling hills. Challenging layout featuring many holes with fairways that are either narrow in the landing area or require turning the ball to get in prime positions. The course conditions were excellent overall.
The Bermuda tees were lush and nicely maintained with few divots.
The Bermuda fairways were lush and very nice to play from.
The Bermuda rough is mowed down and not overly penal with good coverage.
The sand traps were well maintained with fine sand.
The Bermuda greens were smooth and putted medium speed. Firm with few ball marks. These large greens have many subtle undulations with few straight putts. Large challenging green complexes.
I appreciate this layout more with each round played here. This course would be challenging to walk since there are numerous tees hundreds of yards from the last green. The customer service is always excellent here. Plenty of ice/water stations on the course. Nice GPS on the carts. Cart gal was around numerous times. Complementary range balls on an all grass range is a plus. Highly recommended.
Great Course
The course was in great condition especially for the end of summer. The greens could be rolled and play a lil quicker, but you can’t ask for much more from the desert in the month of August!
Beautiful Course...Crappy Greens
We booked directly on the course website...no mention that the greens were just punched and not puttable. The check in staff didn't say anything either. You can imagine our disappointment when we reached the first green. The rest of the course was amazing. We played in the afternoon so there were very few players on the course. Learn from our mistake and call before booking your tee time.
great course
Very nice course...greens were a bit sandy but the layout was great!. Staff was very friendly and lots of water and ice!
Indian Wells Players course.
Doesn't get much better than this, check in staff great, prk-shop great, starter, course, conditions all great & the fact they have water/ice stations every 3 holes is a solid nice touch.
Nice Course, Not Worth The Money
The Players course at Indian Wells was underwhelming after hearing and seeing so much fanfare about the course. The course was in great condition and the Marshal was on the ball keeping slower groups moving. My complaints pertain to the cost and what you get in the course. I’ve golfed several high end muni’s that are on Par with the players course at half the price. The check in was slow with the computer system issues which was no fault of the pro-shop staff. Extremely expensive drinks on the cart as well. Won’t be back unless there are better deals to be had.
Enjoyed our. Game. Pace of play was fine on a beautiful day in peak season. Views of mountain ranges were outstanding. Will likely return
Indian Wells Players is great shotmakers course
As a test of golf, I'd rather play the Players Course than the Celebrity Course because it's certainly more demanding and probably offers a little more variety. It just isn't as visually stunning as the Celebrity Course, which is why I didn't give the Players Course five stars (but I definitely considered it). With this said, I'd play this course over and over again. This is the proverbial "you get to use every club in the bag" course. A terrific variety of holes include the par-4 sixth, which wraps around a lake, ala Bay Hill no. 6, and the drivable par-4 third hole. I also like the fact that all the par 5s are reachable if you have reasonable length off the tee (and play the right tees). In addition to the golf, be sure to check out the clubhouse restaurant, the VUE, which has all kinds of top-chef menu items and a fantastic selection of wines and spirits from the bar.
