Indian Wells Golf Resort - Players Course
About
The Players Course is one of two championship courses at Indian Wells Golf Resort, both of which are ranked in the top 20 golf courses in California. Opened in 2007, the course is still young but the landscape's existing trees were carefully incorporated into the layout to give it a more mature feel. The terrain has many assets to offer a round of golf, including plenty of water features and elevation changes. The challenging layout is complete with meticulously sculpted bunkers. It is a scenic course too with lush, well manicured fairways accented by colorful flowers and meandering streams. The design also takes advantage of the stunning views of the surrounding Santa Rosa, San Jacinto, and San Bernardino mountains ranges. To the south, Eisenhower Mountain serves as a breathtaking backdrop.

Players Course
Played the Orange Tees (6538/71.6/130) with GK Guru's Kevin, Brian and Keith in 4.5 H twilight. The weather was clear and fairly calm in the mid 80's. Almost perfect golf weather, and the course conditions were as good as the weather. Challenging layout with a good mixture of flat and rolling hills. Many holes with fairways that are either narrower or require turning the ball to get in prime positions. Large challenging green complexes. This course would be challenging to walk since there are numerous tees hundreds of yards from the last green. The customer service matched the playing conditions, superb! Cart gal was around numerous times. Complementary range ball on an all grass range is always a plus. The tees were lush and nicely maintained with few divots. The Bermuda fairways were lush and VERY nice to play from. The Bermuda rough was lush and excellent to play from as well. Really nice to chip from, the rough here is better than almost all other courses fairways. The traps were immaculately maintained with nice fine sand. The Bermuda greens putted medium fast and were firm with few ball marks. These large greens have few straight putts with many subtle undulations. Beautiful layout (37-35) with 7 sets of well spaced tees. I especially like how basically all their tees except the tips are combo tees. Makes it easier for people to play different tees since you are playing 9 tees from the color in front of you on most tee sets. Everything was outstanding, I like this course better with each visit. Definitely recommended.
Great golf experience. Valet parking, bag drop and course we're all perfect. We went to the outside bar for a drink after and waited 20 minutes before a server came over and then he told us we can't be served in "these" seats. Great day overall.
Great Golf Coursr
What a perfect day to experience this beautiful golf course. All staff friendly with tips and and a food cart that showed up regularly.
The course was in excellent condition. Challenging as its sister course Celebrity was.
Great experience at Indian Wells
What can I say? The experience from arrival to departure was top notch. The service, course conditions, layout, amenities...everything was great! No complaints at all!
Nice but pricey
Nice very well maintained course. Great fairways. Ball sat up very well. Greens rolled true.
Doesn't get much better
Played on January 27 with my wife, wedding anniversary trip. Indian Wells lives up to the accolades that I found online.
Staff: Have grown to expect Troon course staff friendliness and professionalism, Indian Wells sets the bar. Excellent from arrival to departure
Course: Perfectly manicured, every hole unique and challenging. Will definitely play this one again, as often as we are in the area. Worth the trip from Phoenix
Play: I am not one who measures the golf experience by how fast I got around the course. When I play golf, I have nothing to do afterwards, I go to enjoy golf. That said, we had very little waiting on any tee box, just a couple of times people coming up behind us. Very comfortable pace
serendipity
delightful---sublime!!! the weather clear(as in crystal)
temp hi 60's. not too many others playing, pace was good, no pressure from others. the fairways lush with recent rains, the greens fast and fun
all in all- as good as it gets--please don't show this to others, as they will come here and play this too......
GPS failed and no yardage on course anywhere!!!
Gps quit working on # 10 and despite sending message to pro shop and asking cart girl to relay message no one responded. No player assistant appeared the entire round. Played the entire back nine with no yardage as course is not marked other than the tee box. No yardage is very difficult and the back nine experience was less than enjoyable. Pro shop offered no recourse other than an oppology. For the cost I expected something other than sorry.
Never disappoints
Indian Wells has two courses and. Both are fantastic. If you can only play one I'd say Celibrity course is the prettier of the two (but not by much) From the time you arrive at the course until you drive away you are treated like royalty. The entire staff is absolutely over the top super friendly and will take care of you.
The course itself is perfect with lush fairways excellent bunkers and a challanging yet manageable layout. Plenty of tee box options to make it as difficult or accomondating as you desire.
Greens were slower than normal from last months overseed. Pace of play for the afternoon was under 4 hrs which is fantastic for this course. The course scenery is so beautiful that even when you dunk one into the many lakes around the course you can't help but smile!
I can't wait until I play again tomorrow !!!!
Great golf experience
I was paired up with another couple. They were friendly which contributed to my good experience. The course was immaculately maintained. Although the greens were a bit slow due to recent over seeding, they putted well. The layout was great for a range of golfers when you use the various tee boxes. Overall, a great golf experience and I would be back.
Tough but fair...
Golf course was in great shape.., green were fast but true. First time playing there was a little tough. There a a few blind spots if you don't know where to hit it your in trouble. Would definitely play it again...
Indian Wells Celebrity
Played the Orange Tees (6538/71.7/129) as a single in less than 3H. The weather was clear and fairly calm but close to 110. Beautiful layout (37-35) with 7 sets of well spaced tees. I especially like how basically all their tees except the tips are combo tees. Makes it easier for people to play different tees since you are playing 9 tees from the color in front of you on most tee sets. The tees were lush and nicely maintained with few divots. The Bermuda fairways were lush and very nice to play from. The Bermuda rough was also lush and excellent to play from as well. Really nice to chip from. The traps were immaculately maintained with nice fine sand. The Bermuda greens putted fast and were firm with few ball marks. These greens, especially the speed were especially tough for me to handle between rounds at Classic Club where the conditions were very different. Almost no straight putts with many subtle undulations. Challenging layout set on a good mixture of flat and rolling hills. Many holes with fairways that are either narrower or require turning the ball to get in prime positions. Large challenging green complexes. This course would be challenging to walk since there are numerous tees hundreds of yards from the last green. The customer service matched the playing conditions, superb! Cart guy was around numerous times. Complementary range ball on an all grass range. Everything was outstanding. Definitely recommended.
New fav
I stay in Palm Desert every year at the end of the summer. This is the best time for golf in the area if you can handle the heat. The Players course is a REAL course with tees for every skill level...7300 from the tips and mid tees at 6500 (my tees). Conditions could not have been better. Lots of trouble if you don't hit it straight and lots of bunkering protecting the pin. This venue was a pleasure to play and the staff was perfect. I will make a point of coming here again!
Best course played so far Gordon said
Greens, fairways, and all aspects of the course we're manicured.
Always a great course
Friendly staff, excellent from bag drop to departure. Well trained and a model for other courses to follow. The celebrity course was very well taken care of. I played the tips and nothing too difficult. Tight landing areas but wide open greens with meticulous fairways and rough. Fantastic value. Hats off to management and staff.
A hidden gem!
Beautiful course with constant challenges. Staff was helpful and looking for ways to exceed expectations.
