LAKES course review
Pros: long, good for your hcp, scenic
Cons: spotty greens, 50/50 tee boxes, no ball washers, no drinking water
Not at all worth $70. Worth $50 at most if early weekend until summer kicks in, otherwise $30 and not worth more than 20 minutes drive time (given the amount of courses in the area)
Not a goat track but def not a priority course
Disappointed
Both courses have great layouts. But the lakes course was in horrific condition, a lot of fungus on the greens, a lot of tee boxes, sand only. It should be priced at $35. a round or less
Eagles don't fly anymore...
This course has been flipped a few times in the past 8 years. Staff and MGT seem to not really care, other than ringer the register.
Courses are in somewhat rough shape, weeds on the greens, bumpy. Fairways were nice for the most part with the exception of several leaking sprinklers in fairways.
Not bad for say $35-$40....
Greens Need HELP
I thought the course play and layout were great. I did have issue with the greens, especially for a course that proposed and talked to be of high calibur. There were some greens were the grass was rotting, and many greens that had "broccoli". It made it difficult to putt well. Also, I think I saw one maybe two rakes on all 18 holes around the sand traps. I left not thinking, "I want to come back."
The staff in the pro shop were great.
Like the Lakes Course
My friend and I have played it 4 times this winter here in Florida and I will be back in December
to start playing in again. Probably will play the
forest course a few times.
Course has really gone downhill
This course and management are both terrible. I don’t know how they charge what they charge.. the management and workers are all terrible and all have horrible attitudes. The course is a great layout so it’s a shame that the conditions of the course are awful. Probably never coming back here considering the other courses in the area charge less and are nicer with better vibes.
Sand traps on the greens…? Wow.
Over half of the greens have sand traps on them. Way over priced for the shape the course is in.
Good layout, greens need improvements
This course has interesting layout, but the greens need to be better for the green fees. Course Marshall needs to push people to keep the pace, no one want to get out early in morning just to stuck behind hackers for 5 hrs.
Sand traps on the bunkers on 18
I have played both the Forest and the Lakes courses, and I have to say that the price is outrageous. The sand bunkers on the 18th green are in poor condition, and every other green looks like the moon. I can’t believe I paid $70 just to experience this. Both courses were disappointing; I would recommend saving your time and playing somewhere else. This course is worth no more than $30 at best.
Scenic course
Course is laid out with houses surrounding the majority of the the holes, and the aptly named Lakes course has lakes on every hole.
It’s coming along nicely
I live here and have not played it in over a year, looks like they are doing some good work, the tee boxes are great, fairways are great, the greens not so much looks like they still have work to do but is looking great, we play the lakes course.
WAY OVER PRICED
Over half the greens have bunkers / sand in them. Charging top dollar for a poor condition course is absurd.
Improved since last time
The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in very good shape. The only thing that kept it from getting an excellent score was a few fairways had small bare spots and the greens had small weeds which altered some puts from going straight or slowing it down.
Had a great time playing for the first time.
I really enjoyed playing the course with a friend. I wish I had played better. But that’s why I am going back next Tuesday morning to play again. I do understand being a snow bird from up state New York that it’s winter here now and realize conditions will improve by early April.
Look forward to playing next week.
Lakes course!! I really enjoyed playing your other courses 3 weeks ago,
Not what it used to be
The forest is the better of the 2 courses the layout and the shape of the grass. Hard as a rock hard-pan fairways and greens on the Lakes. Forest is in way better shape some stuff is pretty normal like more sand in the traps WAY TOO HIGH greens fees for both tracks! if you can get a Hor Deal on Golf Now then go play if not save your money.
Rained Yesterday
The course was very wet. 90 degree rule in affect. Played long due to wetness. Greens have some rough spots. But the course has interesting holes and is fairly priced. I’ll be back
