The Eagles Golf Club - Lakes

Cool and windy day so very few people. Lots of leaves on and around fairways so sometimes hard to spot the ball. Greens were excellent but some areas around the greens were dry and worn thin on a few holes. One or two holes were difficult to discern where to place your drive due to trees that seemed to be right in the path but would be easier on subsequent rounds.Overall, a very good course for the fee charged.

Flat fairways. Elevated greens. Every hole. Gets old after a while. Lots of hackers so expect 5 hours. On the plus side, fast greens and amazing old oaks

I was in Florida on business for a week and had some time to play 2 rounds during that time! This course was 1/2 cost wise, far better course conditions, superior staff and better centrally located to tampa than the other course. I would play here again in a heartbeat! Fantastic weather was a bonus!!

New management has done all the right things to make this course even more fun to play!

This course is in good condition and fun to play however today was not the case.Every thing was going fine for 5 holes but then we met up with a foursome in front of us with no one ahead of them and waited every hole.No Rangers were seen all day.I play quite often here and noticed the absence of rangers every time.My wife and I were frustrated waiting every hole It was a Long day for 2 players.

Will definitely play again when I come south. I play 4 times a week up north. This course gave me plenty to handle.

had not played the Lakes Course in over 5 years..preferred the Forest...pleasantly surprised at the condition, especialy several days after a heavy rain..the back 9 is as tough as I remember..

Nice Place. Average Florida Golf course. Course needs a little TLC . Greens very easy, fairways had many leaves on the ground. Staff very friendly

I was not sure about playing course after reading the reviews but really enjoyed the round. Nice views great fairways and greens. Tee boxes needed to be cut but only a slight issue on par threes for me. Somewhat narrow fairways but not to extreme. We played the lakes course and despite its name the water did not affect either of us very much. Had a nice burger at turn and never felt rushed or had to wait for next shot. I would play this course again if I am able to play anymore while in Tampa.

Found last minute deal on GolfNow ... Very good value for the course ... Staff are friendly ... Don't let the word LAKES scare you away as the Red tees are Ladies friendly ... Play long from the back tees with wide fairways ... Greens are elevated but slow ... Don't try to retrieve balls from the water as we saw couple of alligators (4ft and 6 ft) sun tanning about 30 yrds from the tee box on the edge of the water... Will try their Forest course sometimes.

Excellent course. I like 6200 for the white tees. I am a senior and thhis is a great distance. Greens were in excellent condition, however the dressing on the greens did make reading the greens somewhat difficult. True rolls, with minor undulation . Fairways great. Dist markers were very good, i have a gps and really did not need it too much. Very enjoyable.

We were really impressed with all the wildlife Turkeys, Deer, Many varieties of birds, even saw an alligator at the driving range. The course was in great shape and was very challenging. Eagels a positvie surprise, good layout and a fun course to play, the greens a little slow and short holes was the weakness of the Course.

As a novice golfer, a little over a year of golfing play, I was extremely satisfied with my experience at this course. I was happy to find a great rate via the "Golf Now" app - hence my play at a, traditionally, more pricey course. Though my opinion is limited due to the fact that I haven't played long, this course was fantastic! Conditions, staff courtesy and availability were top-notch. I lost several balls on this course, but that is, no-doubt, due to my quality of play as a novice player. As I become more comfortable with my play, I will certainly visit this course more often. I've played the "Forest" course in the past and was equally satisfied with my experience. Traditional rates are higher and I have no problem with that, considering the quality of the course and staff. Until I become a "better player," it is likely I won't visit this course often unless a great rate is available. That said, I certainly don't want to take anything away from The Eagles - a fantastic golf experience and I shot one of my better games this day! Challenging tee-shots; well-manicured fairways and greens; and a comfortable cart complete with a cooler for my water and beverages purchased from the kind "cart-lady." Highly recommended if you're a seasoned golfer; be cautious and bring lots of balls if you're a novice, like myself - unless you find a great rate, as I did.The experience and improvement to my game was well-worth losing a few balls.

I've played the Forest course before and it was my favorite in Tampa. Now that I've played the Lakes, the entire facility is my favorite. The tees and fairways were almost in perfect condition, and the greens were smooth and fast (about 11). The staff were super helpful and friendly. I'll definitely be back every time I get to Tampa.

We enjoyed playing The Eagles (Lakes course), although we had a day that was a little windy and chilly. The course was in pretty good shape, especially the greens. Not a difficult course, but fun for players of all skill levels. Nice restaurant with decent food, although the service was a little shaky. There was a tournament that day, so a lot of people were in the restaurant.

Overall, I would recommend this course.

A great place to play golf. the cost can be challenging , green a big, the ball real well I don't really even nice pace. I highly recommend this course to anyone who enjoys golf and it's environment

Course was wide open and I played quickly; twice. Very good conditions although lots of irrigation made the fairways very soft. Could have used more signage. Twice I caught myself playing towards the wrong hole.

Despite the recent wet weather, the course drained pretty well. Enjoyed the layout. Fairways and greens are in very good condition. A great deal for the money!
