Seaview - The Bay Course

About
The Bay Course is one of two 18-hole courses that the Seaview offers. Designed by famed golf course designer, Donald Ross, it was the first course of the resort and it is also the more famous of the two. Over the years, they made renovations but it was eventually restored to Ross' original links design.
The greens are small and undulating and the Atlantic winds definitely play a huge role in the game. The 2nd hole is the signature hole with a yardage of 432 and a par of 4 that can where the ocean serves as a hazard. Seaview's Bay Course also hosts the ShopRite LPGA Classic.

Nice course
Course was in good shape for Feb golfing. Mostly straight away golf.
Great course
Wind was blowing hard and made the course a real challenge
Course is in good shape for this time of year. Aeration on the greens is filling in nicely. A little wet in places, rained the night before and several tee boxes were closed for repair for next season. Overall nice shape, Very Windy when we played, but still a nice time.
Extremely poorly staffed
Only 2 people were at the clubhouse, a desk person at the pro shop and a starter. I had to carry my clubs across the street approximately 200 yards. Absolutely not what is expected at Seaview!
THE COURSE WAS IN GOOD CONDITION BUT VERY WET. BUT FOR JAN 02, IT WAS A GOOD ROUND CONSIDERING IT WAS JANUARY. LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING THERE AGAIN IN THE SPRING.
Not As Expected
I havent played this course in a long time and wanted to take my son because of its location and because it hosts the LPGA. I was disappointed to see that the conditions were not that good. Bad tee boxes, really, REALLY bad cart paths and a number of unplayable areas. The worst part is we were forced to pair up with two strangers. When I told the bag drop employee I was surprised about this, he gave me an attitude and said, "If you're that afraid of the virus then you should just stay home". He said it was a busy day and they were fully booked so there was no other option. When I booked online there was a ton of free tee times around my time so I thought it would not be an issue. I thought tee times were supposed to be more spaced out to avoid unnecessary exposure? Is the course just being greedy to squeeze in as many tee times and people as possible? The bag drop guy also handled our bags to the cart. I thought that was not allowed per NJ guidelines. At the most their should be a disclaimer on these sites that you MAY have to play as a foursome with strangers during this uncertain time.
Great winter round
Overall really good value for a great course with very friendly staff. Greens are a bit bumpy still but the course overall is in great condition for December. It is cart path only but well worth it to keep the fairways in good condition. Temp greens on the par 3s as well, but this wasn't an issue for us. Would definitely recommend!
