Seaview - The Bay Course
About
The Bay Course is one of two 18-hole courses that the Seaview offers. Designed by famed golf course designer, Donald Ross, it was the first course of the resort and it is also the more famous of the two. Over the years, they made renovations but it was eventually restored to Ross' original links design.
The greens are small and undulating and the Atlantic winds definitely play a huge role in the game. The 2nd hole is the signature hole with a yardage of 432 and a par of 4 that can where the ocean serves as a hazard. Seaview's Bay Course also hosts the ShopRite LPGA Classic.

Short Tough Course with fantastic views (beware of biting flies)
This was the first time I played the Bay course (I played the Pines about 5 times). The course was in excellent condition though a few wet spots from rain the previous day.
The views over the water including the Atlantic City Skyline are really nice.
Here are three major tipcs in playing the Bay course:
1. Stay out of the rough. The rough is thick and affected at least 4 of my iron and wedge shots. Play safe and stay in the fairway
2. Play every shot 10 yards longer (except close to the green). Since you're right at sea level, the shots don't fly as much as if the course was elevated. The most upsetting of all was 17th hole when I could not hit my 54 degree wedge onto the green 115 yards from the tee. It was flying only 100 or 105 yards and falling back into the sand trap (happened twice).
3. Consider bringing bug repellent for the holes close to the water. The flies are really big and one bit me right through my sock.
Greens were in great shape. Sometimes playing fast, sometimes playing slow.
Interesting enough, you can't drive a golf cart across Route 9 to the Bay course. They will either drive you with your clubs or you can walk across and they'll bring over your clubs.
One of the best shorter courses I've played in my life. It's only 6300 yards from the championship tees.
Old School Links Requiring Old School Shotmaking
I played the Pines course last year and wasn't happy with the conditions, I heard great things about the Bay course an decided I would give Seaview another chance. On a rainy Saturday the week after the Shoprite LPGA I was not disappointed. The Wilson/Ross design isn't long (63ish from the back) but the visual tricks, bountiful fescue, and tricky greens are more than enough defense for the Bay course to survive. On the day I played the wind coming off the bay also added to the challenge. For me the approach shots which needed to hit certain sections of the semi-dome like greens were the Bay's best defense. I also found the greens tough to read. Many putts I thought would break didn't and others which seemed fairly straight had some subtle breaks. My one issue with the course was pace of play. The course wasn't extremely crowded and yet there wasn't a Marshall trying to keep things in track. Yes, looking for a ball in the fescue can be tough and it takes time but eventually a drop needs to occur.
green head flies were brutal
course was in excellent condition. Pace of play was very slow. Flies were the worst we had ever experienced.
The Bay Course! A great links course.
Donald Ross design puts this excellent course in a small space. Neat and compact, requires more accuracy than distance. A beginner golfer may struggle but a seasoned golfer will enjoy the challenging terrain and well placed bunkers. The views of Atlantic City across the bay are fantastic. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Will play again and again.
Another great round
The course was in good condition considering all the rain, there were a few wet spots but that is to be expected. The pace of play was great, we never had to wait for the group ahead of us. The greens were fast and true. The staff were all friendly and helpful. It was the first time on the course for my playing partner but he said it's definitely not his last.
A pleasant round
This is my second time playing this course and was pleased to see that everything about Seaview is still excellent. Kudos to the staff.
Great course
Best condition course I ever played. See why it's rated as one of best course on the east coast. Greens immaculate. Better have a good bunker game they've many bunkers on the course.
Seaview Rocks
Great golf course in impeccable condition. Great staff ... Great layout with bay views of AC.
special !
Classic Beauty By The Bay
Great course and nice layout.Greens are fast.Wind off the bay can make course very challenging.
Excellent condition.
Excellent condition for this time of year. Playing conditions very good. Greens recently top dressed. putted very well. Played pines last week and every tee box resodded.
Highly recommend facility.
Great course - great value with Golf Now
Sea Pines two courses - Pines / Bay. Each one different - both equal challenge - both great to play especially at Golf Now fees.
Seaview Bay
For the middle of January the golf course is in terrific shape. Little soggy, but eh.
Excellent round
Even though it had rained heavily a few days before we played the course was in good shape. It is a very challenging course and one I will play again.
mark
Great shape keep it in the narrow fairways and u will enjoy this course
Seaview bay course
Enjoyed playing overall conditions were excellent if not for the cloudy foggy conditions bay views could be great greens were fast fairways nice highly recommend
Nice corse and in great shape.
This was my second time playing there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My friend and I were pared up with two members that were real nice and their course knowledge was helpful. This course is wide open and forgiving. It is a little short, but with the strong winds we had, some of the shorter holes played a lot longer.
cold and windy
a great golf course that you can score well on, some of the sand bunkers were filled with water and the remainer were in need of repair, but it was december, the views of atlantic city and the bay are great, the weather when we played was windy and cold, nothing the course can do about that, the 19th hole pub is great food and drink for after round
Always a Pleasure
Great course and great views. Both the bay and the Pines are excellent!!!
What a great time
Everyone at this course is extremely friendly. They removed clubs from car loaded cart and cleaned clubs when we were done. What more could you ask for other than the fact you could see the bay and Atlantic City from the greens. WOW what a Great place to go. They really keep things up.
Fun fun fun
Course in great condition however rough was thick and the pesticide was overwhelming
