Seaview - The Bay Course
About
The Bay Course is one of two 18-hole courses that the Seaview offers. Designed by famed golf course designer, Donald Ross, it was the first course of the resort and it is also the more famous of the two. Over the years, they made renovations but it was eventually restored to Ross' original links design.
The greens are small and undulating and the Atlantic winds definitely play a huge role in the game. The 2nd hole is the signature hole with a yardage of 432 and a par of 4 that can where the ocean serves as a hazard. Seaview's Bay Course also hosts the ShopRite LPGA Classic.

Jersey golf in late November
Course was in fabulos condition. greens we still recovering from being plugged but still had good roll.
Give it a Week or Two
Enjoyable round as always but they punched the greens about a week and a half ago. They are playable and recovering nicely but they should be back to form in a couple of weeks. Great staff.
Never Disappoints
It's always nice to be able to play a Donald Ross course and even better when the conditions are top notch. We had the benefit of the rare occasion where there was minimal wind so we had plenty of chances to post some good scores. It's probably the only public course in the area that puts a premium of being in the fairway, they've got that private club rough. Challenging greens, bring your short game.
windy and wild
we caught Seaview Bay on a day where the wind was a gale.. When you are hitting into a 4 club wind, its as tough as it gets..
Aside from the harsh wind, the service at Seaview is terrific, the course is in good shape and the views are great.. You MUST hit the ball straight on this course as the rough is extremely punishing. We caught a tremendous deal from golf now and played at a 70% discount.. If you've not played here, its a must..
Course is nice but cart service could be better
Great course, beautiful layout and greens were in great shape. Had some rain the night before...so the course had a few mud/puddle areas. Only complaint is beverage and snack service...it was basically nonexistent. The cart showed up on the 16th hole and there was no service at the halfway house after hole 9. On a Sunday afternoon at 1...would have expected either more beverage carts or someone working the halfway house, especially since the course was full. Worst case maybe only have the cart run holes 4-13...as folks could get drinks and snacks beforehand (which they should suggest to golfers...we went out with the assumption we would drink on the course) or after their round.
bautiful
A beautiful course in fantastic condition and the views from the course take your breath away. Considering the lack of rain we have had, he course was pristine.
Wet day for golf
Wind and rain made golf difficult. Quit after 14 holes. Drives stuck to fairways, approach shots didn't roll.
Played this course on dry days which was a pleasure.
Crowded and slow
If you have 5 to 6 hours to kill play the bay course on a Friday afternoon. Course is in very good shape but a very compact layout
It was all good!
Got a great rate on golf now, arrived early and teed off early. Pace of play was great. Classic Donald Ross with smooth undulating crowned greens. No greenhead fly issues, they must know its September.
Classic Course
I have played the Seaview Bay Course many times over the years, including a Pro Am with the LPGA, and am never disappointed. This time we caught the course on a calm, summer day. The usually tall fescue had recently been cut back, so the curse played a little easier than usual. The course was in great condition, and our threesome played in less than 3 hours. The practice area was disappointing as we had to hit of mats, and the short game practice area was overgrown.
Great Day on the Bay
We arrived close to tee time...everyone helped my wife and I to the tee. Great operational people to handle bags and cart issues. The Bay course was in great shape with vista of Atlantic City on number of holes. It was a very enjoyable experience. Also, new visitors need to walk the resort...lots of history.
Good Course Bad Flie
The course plays great. Unfortunately the green flies are so distracting it takes away from enjoying the play I got bitten up and the flies made it hard to concentrate. For the cost to play its not worth the aggravation.
Incredible Course!!!
I made the drive to SeaView to play a round as all of my local courses have recently aerated...I had heard only great things about both of SeaViews courses and the Bay Course more than lived up to the hype! The course was in immaculate shape and it was a challenging but fair layout. It's well worth the regular $80-$100 price tag, and with grabbing a $40 Hot Deal I feel like I got away with robbery...I will definitely be back!
It's an Eleven on a scale of 1 to 10!
Beautiful course in superb condition. The staff is friendly and the pace of play was excellent: we played our round in 3 and 1/2 hours. The holes are challenging but not extraordinarily difficult for an average golfer like me and the design of the course is quite nice. You can't beat the views either. A must play for all!
Donald Ross course but not up to par!
Very disappointing ... first couple of holes were very scenic. However, bunkers were unkempt, weeds and causal water were common. Bunkers only have 1 rake, some holes had no rakes i.e. the 17th holes. One cart path had a 1 foot drop that you couldn't see until it was to late. LPGA plays the Shop Rite tournament here ... I can't believe the ladies play in the same condition!
Fescue
Ok. You'll look at the stats for this course and think it's easy. Not so, fescue is very close and very much in play on most holes. Errant shots will be penalized, sometimes very harshly. Greens were a bit bumpy as well. All that said, I love playing here. It's fun
Great Round
Went with a buddy, had never played there before and was extremely pleased with the Bay course. It's a shorter course but if not in fairway and strays to the tall grass you'll probably have to drop and take a stroke penalty cause it's very hard to see balls in that. Greens are by no way flat so keeping it on them as well as putting makes it for a fun but challenging time. Definitely will play again if the price is lower than there usual price. Had a great day.
Good Course for Good Golfers
This is a very well maintained course. I would recommend it for anyone with a 14 handicap or better. Higher handicap players will get frustrated with the long rough and the numerous marsh grass waste areas that eat golf balls. The greens are fast and hard to read.
Somewhat disappointed
My playing partner and I were excited to play this course and all started out well. This is a really cool design but there were several mitigating factors that kept it from being a great experience.
-Pace of play was awful. We were paired up with two singles; one who took no less than a 10 on any hole, and another who spent way too much time hovering over each shot. There was also a fivesome ahead of us (seriously?!??). No ranger plus cart path only and so the round took 5 1/2 hours.
- There were large, swarming horseflies that were relentless and bug spray wasn't much use. This made the experience miserable at times.
- I understand the course is designed to be narrow and tough, but we were constantly searching for balls and there wasn't much guidance as far as where to go (some illustrations on course markers or scorecard would have been helpful). It's a tough place to score on your first round.
- The greens were cut pretty high when we played and didn't play as well as they looked. Somewhat slow and bumpy for a course in this price range. Cart paths were also bumpy, broken, or flooded in many places. Course doesn't drain well.
- This review has been pretty critical but I do think it's worth a play if in the area for the right price. I just think it could be so, so much better.
