Excellent layout, superb conditions. Pace of play good. Great value

I played at 4:00 pm and the fee was very affordable.

The condition of fairways and roughs are good.

But the green was kind of too soft as it has been raining.

Overall.. it was pretty fine except I lost one of my club.. wedge.. lol

Had a great time playing here. Beautiful course, friendly staff, and good food. I’m an out of towner and was grouped with some locals. Great group of guys, and very helpful telling me where to hit the ball for best results. Will definitely play here again next time I’m in Chapel Hill.

First... if I can muster a 81 from your senior tips, anything but a top ten finish at Whispering Pines in October would be a personal disappointment. Now back to the review. Please put some quality sand in the bunkers. Their are some of us who actually aim for them from 170 out. All in all thank you for the beautiful September day and hats off to Calvin and Nick ( CHPD Heros) for adopting a 67 year old golf freak.

Hard to get a good read on the greens, tough day putting. Sand bunkers need work. They have very little sand in them and what sand is in there is mixed with rocks. Luckily I only found one. Fairways and tee boxes were in great shape.

For the price to play here, I would expect them to have updated golf carts. The ones they currently have are older and showing their age. Other than that, it was a great experience, will be back!

Great condition. Little dry, so you get some roll. Greens in great shape.

I have always loved this layout. The greens and fairways are in great shape! The bunkers still need some work. Would like to see the water coolers back out on the course especially if you don’t have a cart coming around the course with refreshments. Will definitely be back and play again soon.

Preserve is in the best condition that I've seen in over 3 years. The fairways and greens are excellent. My only gripe is that they need a little more sand in the bunkers and a lot less stones/pebbles in the existing sand.

I feel that this is one of the most challenging courses in the Triangle area....I can't believe it only gets a slope rating of 128 from the white tees....there are many forced carries that I think this course should be a 130 from the whites at a minimum. Go enjoy the conditions...and choose your tees wisely!!!!!

The preserve is a beautiful course. The course is always in great shape. The greens aren’t as quick as I expected, but the layout is challenging/fun. The pace of play is average, but it’s worth if if you have the time for ~4 hours + for 18.. Overall I’d recommend the course.

Beautiful layout (with occasional wildlife); surrounding homes are placed in such a way as to not detract form the experience. (One homeowner even clapped me off the green when I made an unusually good putt.) Course surface was on the spongy side, but the greenskeeper can't control the weather. Nice, challenging layout; perhaps a little too challenging on the back nine where several fairways are interrupted by a series of wetlands. Prior course knowledge is helpful, as many of the wetlands are in blind spots that cannot be seen from the tee or from landing areas.

The course was in great shape. However, the clubhouse was closed on a Friday? Made the turn around 11 am and couldn't get a cold drink or snack.
