It’s been better
The course has degraded over the last couple years. The tee boxes were the worse I’ve seen since playing Twin Lakes.
Hope it gets better soon.
PS. The greens were good
Best Semi-Private layout in the Triangle
The greens were in really good shape. The rest of the course will green up with warmer weather.
Bunkers need a little work and drainage has always been an issue on a few holes.
I highly recommend the Preserve. (bring your A game)
Tee boxes need help
This is a great course during the summer but at this time of year the tee boxes were mud. Disappointing to pay so much.
Great staff, good conditions, excellent value
The Preserve at Jordan Lake provides great value, good conditions, excellent staff, and a pleasant playing experience.
I went out by myself.
The staff is helpful, friendly, and professional.
Pace of play was great, playing 18 holes in 4 hours.
Conditions were wet due to recent rain. Tees need a little bit more grass to grow in. Fairways are better but also could use more turf.
Greens were excellent, rolling true and smooth. Very nice surfaces.
Attention to detail items:
1) Carts- were dirty, definitely not washed. Also, being gas carts, they did not have much pep, struggling to get up hills.
2) Chairs- Chairs by putting green definitely need a paint touch up.
3) Tees- Stone markers could use a touch up to be cleaner. Tee markers need some paint.
Bathrooms on the course and in clubhouse are very clean.
Pro shop is well-stocked and clean.
I would recommend The Preserve at Jordan Lake to everyone.
With the prior recommendations, I am sure the facility will go back to a top notch location for golfers. I appreciate that it is still early in the season.
Okay Winter Conditions
Preserve is a tough course if you play from the wrong tees....lots of forced carries. Great layout. Greens were a bit spongy and slow (Bermuda), fairways were ok for this time of year. The sand traps are no more than pulverized red clay.....stay out of them if you can.
Great greens SLOW PLAY.
Would have been an enjoyable except for the SLOW PLAY and lack of supervision to move the rude players along. Five hours on a Monday is ridiculous.
Solid track
Great layout. Greens are slow in winter, but in decent shape. Good Mx of challenging and easier holes.
