Macdonald Cardrona Hotel, Golf & Country Club

The course was in good condition and withstood the recent heavy rain which contributed to some greens being slow for summer time . Enjoyed my round of golf while managing to avoid the thick heavy rough, most of the time !

My first time playing the course.

I had a wonderful day and the course was in fabulous condition.

The course is in excellent condition. Changeable weather made the course relatively challenging. The upkeep is excellent and the staff very helpful. Travelled over 2 hours to to play, and it was well worth it. I will be back very soon.

Booked and played before a hotel stay . Friendly staff in the pro shop and spikes bar . 2nd time playing fantastic layout . Was however pretty disappointed in the condition. The semi rough and bunkers in particular. Would give it another go at some point views and layout are heard to beat !

Used to play this course regularly, glad to see that it’s back in good condition. Only a few soft/wet patches on 7, 17 and 18 fairways (Despite all the rain over the last few months). All the tee boxes and greens were in good condition. Always enjoyed the lay out. Practice area needs money spent on it. No nets, range is closed and putting green needs a bit of work.

Played Saturday the 24th of Feb 2024 and this course was excellent 👏 credit to the greenkeepers thus course for winter is amazing. Bar staff didn't offer much help but the club shop was friendly and very helpful.

Will definitely be returning we'll done and we'll worth the money 👍👌

Course in really good condition considering the time of year and recent heavy rain. Would highly recommend if you want a game at this time of year playing from proper Tees and to big greens. Will definitely be back

Played Cardrona many times and it’s been well documented that the course, especially the greens suffered post Covid, but I’m pleased to say that it’s picked up really well so hats off to the greens staff for making it playable again. It’s a great venue for stay and play and even better for society outings, which I’ll be looking into again for next year as time has run out for this year, but weather permitting I’ll be back don again before the year is out.

WELL WORTH ANOTHER VISIT.

Amazing course, well looked after stunning setting, pro was very welcoming.

Much improved on the time I played around 3 years ago, when it was waterlogged and greens poor. No such issue this time, course in great condition. The pro at the shop was everything you want; warm, engaging, and knowledgable. There are far worse courses charging double this green fee. £25 a snip. It is long so get a buggy if it’s a warm day and get a course guide if you want to score well. Hidden undulations can look safe, but your in trouble. Great day out!

BUT - Greens were scorched and badly needed water.

That being said, still a fantastic course and somewhere I wouldnt hesitate to play again

Traveled over from Ireland , and I must say it was well worth it!

What a beautiful course - shot my lowest round here too!

The Men working the pro shop are absolute Gents and were very accommodating.
