Rutherford Castle Golf Club sits amidst 150 acres of parkland under the Pentland Hills. It's a 15-minute drive south from the Edinburgh City Bypass. The par-72, championship-length golf course measures 6,525 yards and features water hazards and mature trees sprung naturally from the landscape, providing a test for even top golfers.
Tee off at the Rutherford Castle Golf Club on the par-4, 386-yard first hole. There are four par 5s for those who want to open up their long games, with the seventh hole coming in the longest at 555 yards. Perhaps, then, it's a relief that the very last hole is a par 3 that only stretches 137 yards.
An extra bonus is the Rutherford Castle Golf Club's tranquil environs, which allow for a magnificent vista of the Pentland Hills as well as the Scottish Borders region.
