Dalmahoy Hotel, Golf & Country Club - West Course

About
The Dalmahoy Golf and Country Club's shorter golf course is the West Course, which measures 5,168 yards from the white tees. That just makes the par-68 golf course a different kind of test, as it features squeezed fairways and little greens, requiring accurate play. The golf course demands extra accuracy at its end if you're going to find your way around the Gogar Burn's waters.
A round of golf on the Dalmahoy Golf and Country Club's West Course kicks off on Caw Canny, a par 4 that measures 269 yards from the white tees. Coming in at over 10 percent of the course's length is the 13th hole, Lang Dalmahoy, a 536-yard par-5. The final hole is Douglas Hame, a 314-yard par 4.
The Dalmahoy Golf and Country Club offers several stay-and-play packages, as well as golf events and instruction.

Nice course, but easy improveable
Played this before going to the airport. Good layout of the course that was different from other courses I played in Scotland. They didn't have a course guide, which seems odd considering the price tag of a round. I believe the map on hole 8 was outdated, since it showed a straight hole while it did in fact dogleg left. Not possible to eat after the round if you're done before 12.30.
Excellent day out
When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who were both polite and helpful. The course was in excellent condition the West course is short but accuracy off the tee is a must greens were consistent throughout and to top the day off one of my playing partners had a hole in 1 at the short 16th. Excellent day and will be back.
West course dalmahoy
Arrived at course asked the man in the shop if greenkeeper was out removing due from greens told it was not run like a golf club no staff out. Started to play very quickly realised greens were hairy and bumpy loads of ball craters very sandy not told of this. The mats could do with frames as the were turning up at the sides not easy to tee it up level.
Definitely worth a visit as course is always kept in great condition.
Good short course that needs better up keep
Nice course with some enjoyable holes. The greens rolled well but seems to be moss and other brown patches. Generally the bunker surrounds and tee boxes need better upkeep. Off some tees there were so many divots it was hard to find a flat bit of grass.
Front 9 too tight on West Course
Club and Course in great shape.
Nice buggies and lots of them available.
Played shorter West course. On the Front 9 tee boxes, greens and in many cases fairways too close so it rained golf balls sometimes - not safe.
Thankfully the back 9 was great - much more space.
Enjoyed our round.
Pleasant without significant challenges or interest
As a second course at Dalmahoy, the west course is ok. It is relatively basic in nature with no significant difficulties.
Condition of the course was pretty good, but I played after one of the best spells of weather possible in central scotland for a course to be looking its best - suspect could be quite wet in winter time - bunkers were still GUR a couple days after a bit of rain.
No particularly interesting holes to catch your attention or draw the camera out, although the overall environment is pleasantly rural green...not difficult to find in Scotland.
The course is short with 5 par 3s and only one par 5, and a number of pretty short par 4s thrown in the mix. There are a lot of trees but, in the main, the grass around them is well kept so not too punishing if you are a bit off line.
Some basics like ball scrubbers are non existent - I can't think why.
Would recommend for high handicappers or someone looking for a non taxing round in a relatively prestigious location.
Course
The course was in amazing condition for the time of year, I’m for sure playing here again. Greens in Amazing condition alway.
Nice wee course
Played it for the firsts time and a nice wee course. Would play it differently a second time as a few blind tee shots etc
Great course bar the lit downs
Great course, not long but still has it challenges and tests your all round game would highly recommend. Only downside was when we checked in we weren’t given scorecards or even directions to the first tee luckily the group behind let us get out in front of them otherwise we would’ve had to wait a good bit.
