Drumoig Golf Hotel sprawls across 250 acres of rolling countryside inhabited by a variety of different birds and wildlife. The dramatic landscape provides the course with plenty of loch-side fairways and quarry greens. The lochs come into play on three holes, most notably on the challenging par-3 ninth. The difficult tee shot is followed by a tricky shot over the loch in order to reach the green. More advanced golfers will find the back tees provide a good challenge while the front tees are better for beginners. Golfers will also enjoy the views that stretch past St. Andrews Bay and the River Tay to Dundee and Carnoustie. The par-5 fifth is the signature hole of the golf course. The hole, which often plays into prevailing wind, requires a strong drive and a long iron to reach the narrow opening to the green.

Great day away

Played this course many times and greens were as good as I've seen them(7th was a bit iffy) was a crazy weather day but we got lucky(apart from 40mph gusts of wind) lot of work been carried out since last visit(new tees etc) love the changes on 18th(old layout didn't make sense, now a great finishing hole) will be back soon.

Amazing value for money.

Great course, gorgeous condition, great range of holes. Only minor issues with a dodgy green but for the price and overall quality of the course it meant very little.

One thing would help on a course of that length is more yardage markers on the fairway. This would enhance the experience even more.

Drumoig

Played course after a day/night of heavy rain and we were pleasantly surprise how well the course held up. Read previous reviews about the greens being in bad condition, a lot of work must have been done as they were in superb condition (bar the 7th which is under repair). Our only small gripe would be we got held up at the 9th till the end from a group of senior ladies who were playing in their competition and were adamant we would not be playing through!!

First time we played this course and won’t be the last, the course was in excellent condition and proved a nice challenge for an 18 handicapper.

Well worth a visit.

We really enjoyed our round at Drumoig GC. The course was in good condition considering all the rain we had had overnight. The clubhouse was welcoming, we had coffee before going out plus a hot meal and drinks on finishing our round. Well worth a visit.

Just Good Value

Played this course a number of times when St Andrews courses are busy. It's a good track and well worth the green fees. On this occasion the greens were too hairy for me and one of the greens is undergoing some serious repairs. But generally it's an interesting course layout.

Lovely course

Fantastic greens, well kept lush fairways. Some good mixed challenges with water and a lot of bunkers. A lot of par 5 holes. Will return.

Good course. Inconsiderate players.

After teeing off late afternoon with no one in front of us for at least a few holes, we somehow caught up to a large group of 6 all playing together on the 9th tee. They clearly had teed off in two smaller groups then joined together once away from the first few holes. From then on we were waiting constantly on slow play and time wasting despite having 3 buggies between the group of 6. Disappointed that we were never waved through even though we had to wait patiently on every tee for long periods of time. Slightly spoiled the experience of a nice day out.

Drumoig

Great course, great layout, signature holes 9, 10 , with water. Disappointed with the greens, many were in a terrible state, bare patches and sand all over the greens. The ones that were in good condition were the slowest greens I've ever putted on. The halfway house , which was advertised as open, when we arrived, was closed. A couple of our group had put off buying something before the round and decided to wait till halfway. Disappointing. Bar staff not very friendly. Food was good though. Fairways excellent.
