Royal Musselburgh Golf Club sits at the tip of the renowned span of golf fcourses along the East Lothian coast, and offers picture-perfect parkland play, making it a must-visit. Royal Musselburgh holds the honor of being the world's fifth-oldest, having started as the nine-hole links course, Musselburgh Levenhall. The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, Royal Burgess Golfing Society and Bruntsfield Golf Club have all golfed there.

Royal Musselbergh Golf Club's 349-yard par-4 first hole hides two fairway bunkers to the right. The 477-yard par-5 ninth requires three-shot play when fighting wind: The closer you get to the green after two strokes, the more difficult the pitch. Close down on the 410-yard par-4 18th, where it behooves golfers to carry a big stick, as going right off the tee, rather than carrying the drive to just in front of the green, is a major folly. Non members may pay to use the restaurant and bar, become social members, and get affordable course fare, as well as the chance to attend special events such as dances, buffets, and whisky tastings.

1st round of the year

Lovely setting, course was in good condition, however fairways looked like they needed a cut and the greens were still recovering from being treated. Not too bad but still a little bumpy.

All in all the course was great.

Pace of play was excellent, we got.our 2 ball round in just under 3 hours 25 minutes.

Pro Shop is well stocked and staff are very helpful too.

If you get the chance, definitely get a round in here.

Clubhouse is lovely, didn't have time to eat but had a quick refreshment.

Top service and nice course.

Nice course in good nick. Exceptional service from Pro Callum. We were playing late after a medal. We needed a buggie and Pro Callum came and collected the buggie keys after they were closed at end of play about 20.00😊👍

Poor winter tees and greens

The condition of the course is just not worth playing at the moment - even at this reduced Price.

Great course in normal summer conditions but don't waste time until the course improves (very muddy).

Weather has been bad so understandable.

I wish golf now would indicate winter greens/tees are in operation somehow.

Aerified And much sand on greens

We visited as non Uk golfers. GolfNow price of 36,99 was attractive.

Greens were unplayable and if we had known before we wouldn’t have played.

Lovely course

Conditions were tremendous - the greens and fairways were very well kept and all of the members, visitors and younger golfers were very welcoming towards us. We found the course to be one of our favourite from our 3 day trip. We will definitely revisit when we are back up north.

Great parkland course in immaculate condition

Most enjoyable, loosener, prior to taking on some tougher challenges up here. Generous fairways and lovely shots into greens. A good price at £34.

I wouldn't pay £100 though, which seems to be the direction green fees are heading. I can't understand why golf clubs are doing this. They don't need to charge this amount, and it's not justified. It's simply to appear exclusive and expensive to attract the foreign visitors, at the expense of us in this country, just looking to play as many of these great courses in our country.

Awful!

Conditions were okay. Course is nice. But pace of play completely ruined my round and made me hate it, a group of local members was super rude to me as well.
