About
Marshall Canyon Golf Course is nestled within the scenic foothills that overlook La Verne. The course is seemingly short at 6,110 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The hilly terrain provides more than enough uneven lies and blind shots. The fast greens are also some of the toughest in the area but they are nicely balanced by wide, player-friendly fairways. The hard-to-read greens have subtle but tricky breaks that get easier once you've played the golf course before but even then, they still present some challenges. Marshall Canyon is a local favorite not only for the challenging round but also because it's a good value with great scenery. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and will often catch a glimpse of the many deer that roam the course.

great day
I eagled the 10th 5 par hole!!!!...and birdied the 11th 3 par!!...greens unpredictably sloped...fast...fairways mowed low for further roll...the traps suck because they are filled with packed gravelly stuff...rough kind of tall.

Great Course
Marshall Canyon is a great course to play on. The greens were in great condition and the fairways were as well. It had rained a few days ago so it was a bit sticky on the green but thats expected. The course is quiet, beautiful and you'll see deer walking in the wild.
I hit the driving range before hand and noted that it was a bit small but did the job. The amenities like the club house food/bar were a bit dated but the service was excellent. They participate in GolfPass Perks so drinks were 2 for 1 and the range balls were complementary.
Overall this is a great course to play.

Great condition
I've played this course numerous times. This course is in great condition right now. The fairways have a few dry spots, but for theist part the fairways are in great condition. The greens are tough but fair.

Only green course in CA for the price
This course is always a fun track, difficult to walk I’d recommend a cart. Greens are a little slow and soggy right now. Fairways are GREEN, a rarity for Ca courses with our drought. Pace slow due to one group otherwise should be fine. Tee’d off at 10:40 on a Monday. Maintenance workers were out. Bunkers could use some work, basically dirt. I’ll be back

Large group of walkers delayed play
There was a group of 7 walkers followed by a group of 3 walkers. Total about 10 walkers in front with same tee time. On a positive note, we joined 2 rider groups that were backed up in line waiting and made some new friends.

Hidden Gem
Have been to Marshall a few times now. Both to play 9 and 18.
By far my favorite course around the IE. Would even choose coming here over some of the Palm Desert courses I have tried. Surrounded by nature, deer laying / running around each time I’m there on pretty much every hole. Even saw a bobcat completely minding his own business which was awesome. Aside from that the course is always kept in great shape. Does play a little slow but it all depends on who’s in front of you. Im not a big “ready golfer” so it being slow sometimes does not matter to me. I usually try to be first out and it’s gorgeous watching the sunrise. Very friendly staff and have a good assortment of beverages / snacks. They do make some breakfast burritos and things like that. Have seen a grill with hot dogs and such on the weekends. Would definitely give this course a try if you haven’t yet.
