About
Marshall Canyon Golf Course is nestled within the scenic foothills that overlook La Verne. The course is seemingly short at 6,110 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The hilly terrain provides more than enough uneven lies and blind shots. The fast greens are also some of the toughest in the area but they are nicely balanced by wide, player-friendly fairways. The hard-to-read greens have subtle but tricky breaks that get easier once you've played the golf course before but even then, they still present some challenges. Marshall Canyon is a local favorite not only for the challenging round but also because it's a good value with great scenery. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and will often catch a glimpse of the many deer that roam the course.

Fun round of golf
Fun and challenging. Nature at its best. Greens are a little tough to read, but in good condition. Would definitely play here again.

Not good
Course is old. Nothing to write home about. Do not like how everything on the course slopes one way. It’s not a hard course. Pace was slow. They take care of it with minimal effort. Greens are good but rest of course was....meh. The website designer should be given an award because the website makes the course look like it’s 100x better than it actually is.

Good Course
Great course whether you’ve been playing for a while or just starting out. Very open layout and the fairways are very well kept. Greens were in good condition

Will not return..
I grew up playing this course. I really like the layout and is normally a good value. HOWEVER, it has gone very downhill. This was was second time playing this course in two weeks. First round was great. The greens here are tough but playable.
Me and my girlfriend had a 3:15 tee time. She’s a beginner golfer so we’re not the quickest when it comes to pace but we do not hold anyone up. Yesterday when we played there were many groups of high school players, which is not a big deal. BUT, taking over 3.5 hours for a front nine holes is. So we finished up our 9 and called it a day since it was going to be dark in a small amount of time. Not a big deal. Went to contact the starter/ pro shop staff and could not find a single person.
I contacted the starter the next morning and explained the issue. Other courses I’ve had issues at take care of you and make it right when somethings not good. However the guy I talked to could not care less. After saying there’s nothing he can do I simply asked if they could advise players of possible slow play due to school matches. The response I got was “umm sure.” He was beyond unprofessional and did not have a single concern for my issues.
There’s much better courses nearby for the money (almost $80 for 2 people to play 9 holes). There’s no course management. No regards for the players paying to enjoy a day on the course. This will be my last visit and I have many friends that play here who advised they have had similar issues. Sad to see this place the way it is....

Great Course, Great Experience
I'm fairly new to golf, and I recently golfed in a group of 4 at this course for the first time. It was great! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the other golfers on the course were friendly and helpful to our group too! The course was beautiful, and the wildlife all over the place was great to see. I really have no complaints, and if you're a new golfer like me looking to enjoy a pretty course with some nice folks everywhere, Marshall Canyon is pretty great!
