The Amelia River Club is located on Amelia Island, just north of Jacksonville and within minutes of the historic town of Fernandina Beach. Renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic Live Oaks, Sable Palms, Pines and Wax Myrtles.

This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, plays to a yardage of 6,823 from the back tees. It's pristine condition features well manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play.

The Amelia River consists of 18 holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The fairways are wide and open, giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course on some holes and a narrow tree lined experience on others. The 13th hole is a good example of the course’s challenges. This long par five runs along the border of the Fernandina Beach Airport and is a strategic three shot hole. Too long and left at lay up and you will have to deal with a water hazard. The wind can play havoc with this hole as it reminds one of an open links style design. In contrast #9 is a tree lined par four with very little room for error and includes a forced carry over Alligator Creek.

The signature 17th hole is a par three surrounded by water demanding an accurate shot to the island green which closely resembles another very famous golf hole in our area! The final hole ends at the edge of the Amelia River and its expansive tidal marsh.

My wife and I played the course and had big fun. Greens were firm and quick but in excellent condition, finished in under 4 hours, nice people and amenities.

Simple yet enjoyable course

The course has a pretty standard layout for the front nine but the back nine contains a fun “drivable” dog leg left par 4 over water as well as a par 3 that has an island hole feel. The staff was extremely friendly &

Inviting.

Not bad

Pro shop and practice facilities were pretty nice and seemed brand new. Course was in an ok condition but I got a good deal on golf now, I couldn’t imagine paying 170$ for that course.

Must play!

The staff were well mannered and professional from the minute I got there to the minute I left. While there wasn't drinking water on the course, the starter still was very accommodating on giving me plenty of water for the round. The course was in fantastic shape and the greens were basically perfect and rolled true. The pro shop was also very nice with alot of merchandise to choose from. Give this club a shot and you won't be disappointed.

Great bargain on Amelia Island

Played this course on trip to Amelia Island. Discounted rate for Florida/Georgia residents. Course had recovered from recent aeration, and it didn’t affect putting. Fun layout with some nice views. Driving range is mats with TopTracer. Price for 45 range balls was $24, which is steep. Starter and bag loaders were great. Offered ice water towels before teeing off. Ice machine and water before teeing off or at the turn essential this time of year. Snack bar and beverage cart had reasonable prices. A great experience all around.

Great Overall Experience

Had a great time playing Amelia River. The course was in amazing shape, they had GPS in the carts and Trackman on the range. I saw the beverage cart multiple times during my round and staff was very friendly. Finished my round in under 4 hours. Highly Recommend!

Good Experience

Generally very friendly staff and good pace of play. Course marshals come by regularly to check pace and offer ice cold towels on steamy days. Very nice touch. Greens are slower than they should be for a course like this, but fun layout.

Fun track with friendly staff

My husband and I played here twice in one week during a visit to family. We enjoyed the golf, challenging but with several wide open fairways. The rough wasn't too deep, and bunkers were in good shape. We were most impressed by the staff! The starters were friendly and helpful, and on the 17th we enjoyed crossing paths with Greg who was out delivering ice cold towels - perfect! The only surprise was the cost of the range balls - $30 for a bag of 35-40 ball! But the range has Trackman available, so that explains the cost. Just something to beware of.

Solid Course

Definitely a fun course to play while on vacation. Greens and fairways have been verticut but it didn’t affect the conditions. The greens still rolled true. The layout was good and everyone was very nice. Not sure it’s quite worth $189, so glad we got it on a hot deal.
