Kirriemuir Golf Club

About
Kirriemuir Golf Club, designed by James Braid, lies in the heart of Scotland's golfing country, 18 miles from Carnoustie and 35 miles from St. Andrews. No fewer than eight Open final qualifying golf courses are within a 45-minute drive.
Avenues of woods, gorse and broom surround lush, undulating fairways with greens that are impeccable and true. The views are inspiring, particularly from the fourth hole, with Lochnagar in the distance.
Like many of the great golf courses, Kirriemuir's best is reserved for the finish. The 17th, named Braid's Gem, is a 180-yard par-3 hole, with the green guarded by two majestic trees both left and right. No. 18 is a difficult par 4, uphill with a large oak tree blocking the right half of the fairway.
The par-68 heathland/parkland layout measures 5,518 yards from the back tees.

Great value for money
Wonderful little course, particularly for the money.
Little bit challenging but nothing crazy, fast greens though!
Disappointing to have to play off of mats on the fairway, and for the last green to be a winter green, but these are both understandable given the time of year. Also a little disappointed there wasn't any par 5's on the course but that's also just personal preference so can't fault it.
Members and staff were welcoming and a delight, and I can't wait to come back in the summer!
Kirriemuir golf club
Playing a round this far north in October is always dicey. But I was more than pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course. We tee'd off at 1pm and pretty well had the place to ourselves. The meal before was excellent and very good vfm. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Old school golf course
A lovely little course tight in places. Small greens with slope. A good test but not a long walk.

A warm welcome awaits golfers wanting to play this course,
The course is not excessively long, but the layout and speed of the greens will test the most experienced of players,
Very enjoyable course over looking the Glens
Short but tricky!
Nice old course with great scenery - greens were good but very difficult to judge speed & slopes! Will definitely return to try and master the greens :-)
“Hidden Gem”! Definitely visit again.
Excellent course to play with unbelievably fast / smooth Greens. Long and tough Par 4’s throughout.
Look forward to tackling it again sometime.

Hidden gem
Fantastic course. Never heard of before. First 8 holes very tight. Good use of land available. All different great protection by well placed bunkers. First course I've played where red tees behind yellow ones. Great test from red tees. Middle holes up and down. Great finishing 3 holes. Really enjoyed it. Great condition fast greens. Well worth the money. Would revisit if in the area again. Members and staff really friendly.
Fantastic
Staff were fabulous, lovely course play was a bit slow but nothing too bad. Food was amazing and great value for money. I will definitely be back
Course facilities
Course excellent. Badly let down by toilet facility on the course, no top on cistern, dirty and not working flush.
Nothing Special
Quirky little course, prettty compact so feel like playing right next to the previous hole regularly. Course pace was painfully slow although this may have been because it was a Monday morning. Better options locally.
