Sun Village Golf Course
About
Sun Village Golf Course, although located within a retirement community, offers a challenging game. This par-3 course has three sets of tee boxes to accommodate most skill levels and abilities. It has plenty of water on the back nine, adding to its difficulty. Although the course has homes surrounding it, there is still a laid back and quiet atmosphere. Since the golf course is aimed towards seniors, it is easy to walk although it does have a winding layout that some golfers get lost on. The Sun Village Golf Course being only for seniors is a misconception though, since the course offers a good game.

Really fun course
My wife is learning to play and this was perfect for her to tee up and practice her iron shots. A perfect confidence builder. Super nice people and the grounds are well maintained. And a great price.
A Fave Executive Course
Top shape greens, fairways, and rough. Best to practice your approach and short game.
Enjoyable day
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Course was in great condition and speed of play great. Lots of fun on a beautiful day.
Great course for wedge practice
Perfect for wedge practice. Greens are slow, but in good shape.
Fire from office lady
The most unprofessionally run course I’ve ever played at. We had an 8:15 tee time that got pushed back to 10ish??? We show up at 9:50 as we were instructed to do and she told us no we can’t go out. Then after calling her out for saying we would be good at 10 she then said okay start on the back 9. Back 9 was good besides the slow 4some in front of us. We get back to hole 1 and there are 5 groups waiting to tee off. Complete joke of a course being run by a disrespectful woman. We went in and asked for a refund as the second 9 hole would take easily 4 hours and she gave us $7 back for the round. Then proceeded to laugh in our faces when we said that this was a joke. “I’m sowwy” is how she mocked and laughed at us when we told her this was unacceptable as she wasted our whole morning. She clearly has problems and management should step up here as that was completely unacceptable and unnecessary. I thought the review I read was a joke but the guy that wrote that probably dealt with this awful woman.
Great Outing
This is a great little 18 hole par 3 course which is always in excellent condition. The weather was mid 60’s with no wind so perfect conditions. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will definitely return.
10-HOUR ROUND
If you have 10 hours to stretch for a round at an executive course, boy is this the place for you. They do a phenomenal job placing foursomes right after one another with little to no separation. Because these players average 8 strokes a hole, due to the obvious, groups pile up on one another. By hole 5, I was standing with a foursome and a threesome waiting for another foursome to tee off. The really nice thing is that you get a lot of downtime that you weren’t expecting. It’s great for writing novels, doing your taxes, or even taking power naps. Unless you have the entire day prepped to stand around, I would suggest finding another course nearby with a reasonable pace of play. Good luck to you brave souls that venture to this course!
Great par 3 course
It was mine and the husband's first time playing. We really enjoyed this short course.
Cute, good for practice.
Good par 3 course all 18 holes. Needs a little more distance variation. The longest hole was only 147. It was in great shape, beautifully manicured. Slow greens.
Long walk
Pretty course in good condition but it seemed like a lot of walking for a “short” course - 3 miles according to my friend’s smartwatch. Didn’t find the hole layouts to be very interesting.
Good Time
Nice & green course. Greens a bit uncut, slow roll up or down to cup. Overall good time & will return. Thanks.
Nearly $100 poorly spent
I am 58 and my 30 something year old son and 7-year-old granddaughter that I introduced to the game of golf came into town from out of state. I thought Sun Village would be a great course to enjoy for the three of us. I purchased 18 holes for the three of us on golf now for nearly $80. I brought my pushcart, and we purchased 2 push carts for my son and granddaughter’s bags for another $10. My granddaughter’s bag is 2 foot tall and did not fit on the rental pushcart. My son was going to place my granddaughters 4 clubs in his bag and quickly from out of the clubhouse the employee informed us we couldn’t do that and that she didn’t want to get calls about walkalongs. Needless to say, we had to place my granddaughter’s bag on top of my son’s bags and off we went. At probably hole 6 here comes the bag police/ranger. He says we can’t do that. I am like can’t do what? He says everyone needs a bag and that he also didn’t want to get calls. Again, we had to show him we had 3 bags. He never asked if we paid for 2 or 3 players. It is a retirement community and even if you pay full greens fees, they have a problem with the number of bags. He didn’t even take into consideration my granddaughter is probably not even 4 foot tall. Sounds like maybe residents don’t pay their greens fees and/or they don’t want wives or husbands walking along to watching their spouses enjoy the game of golf. A golf course built not to be enjoyed, imagine that. For a short Par 3 course the experience overshadowed the course’s well-kept condition. Not sure why the course is even opened to the public. The HOA/residents should just bear the entire cost for to maintain the course and have the restrictive rules for their residents. Having the restrictive rules for the public just sends a negative message about your community. We paid our greens fees, had three bags and still felt hassled. Nine holes was enough for us and won’t be back. Golf is a family game for us. I will not tolerate my granddaughter not feeling welcomed or feeling that she had done something wrong. We won’t be back.
