Gary Player at Geneva National Golf Club

About
Geneva National Golf Club boasts three championship courses, each with a notable designer: Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, and Lee Trevino. All three courses sit along the shores of Lake Como and were carved from lush, rolling countryside. The Gary Player Course, along with the Palmer Course, provides the greatest challenges and also some of the best scenery. Water hazards come into play on 12 holes in the form of wandering streams and large lakes. One of the most memorable holes with water is the par-3 16th. There is a lake that wraps almost entirely around the green, giving it the feel and difficulty of an island green. In addition to the water, golfers will also have numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The club is popular with locals but also with visitors since it is only a short drive from metropolitan Chicago and Milwaukee.

One of the best courses of its kind
For all his bluster, The Black Knight’s track record as the name on golf courses is uneven at best. But the course that bears the Player name here is a very good one: big-shouldered and heavily bunkered, with a routing that tackles some challenging with panache, rather than timidity. The plunging par-5 10th hole with a pondside green is a highlight.
Excellent Fall Value
Great course, beautiful rolling hills and challenging! Fall rate couldn't be beat, about half the price during the summer. Will be back!
The view is spectacular
Nice layout and the view is spectacular but they need to add more sign and direction to the next hole cause it’s confusing you’re wasting time looking for the next hole remember the place is hilly which I like but in summer it’s full of trees you get lost a little.
What happened to my fav course
What used to be my favorite course has become a money grab in October. From hole numbe 3 the marshal followed our group for the next 10 holes... we were ahead of pace by 4 minutes and the he guy was at every point of hitting the ball. I called the pro shop at hole 12 to call off the surveillance. Yet we sa yet another marshal at hole 12 and 16, I was ready to leave as it was annoying my entirety round. They must have taken notes from evergreen with team of Marshall's that force thw pace of play like no others. The geeens were un putt able as they didn't care as the guy watched our drive to the green. It's the end of October and they started everyone late an hour for frost but they had their team of marshal's enforcing pace of play. We were finished in less that 4 hours and yet we had to se the team on every hole but two. The his place is crazy..played the player and note it will be my last time putting up with this course.
Wow!
Absolutely beautiful golf course and in great condition!
Only complaint would be we saw the beverage cart one time at the end of our round for 18 holes
Ranger’s needed
Need to push some foursome’s along, some people think they’re playing for a Green Jacket.
Slow Play
No control over the pace on the course. Allow 5 somes on a holiday weekend. Over 5 hours to complete the round and finished the last two holes i. the dark. Could have been managed better by the staff!
