Gary Player at Geneva National Golf Club
About
Geneva National Golf Club boasts three championship courses, each with a notable designer: Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, and Lee Trevino. All three courses sit along the shores of Lake Como and were carved from lush, rolling countryside. The Gary Player Course, along with the Palmer Course, provides the greatest challenges and also some of the best scenery. Water hazards come into play on 12 holes in the form of wandering streams and large lakes. One of the most memorable holes with water is the par-3 16th. There is a lake that wraps almost entirely around the green, giving it the feel and difficulty of an island green. In addition to the water, golfers will also have numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The club is popular with locals but also with visitors since it is only a short drive from metropolitan Chicago and Milwaukee.

Golfer Reviews
Ranger’s needed
Need to push some foursome’s along, some people think they’re playing for a Green Jacket.
Slow Play
No control over the pace on the course. Allow 5 somes on a holiday weekend. Over 5 hours to complete the round and finished the last two holes i. the dark. Could have been managed better by the staff!
Everything was great
Course was in Greta shape and pace of play excellent.
Great features
The scenery was great and the course was in great shape
Pricey
The course has a nice layout, and is in great condition. I do think however that $190 is pretty steep for this course.
Amazed of the condition of the course after many recent torrential downpours
The Player Course is my favorite of the three and yesterday did not disappoint!
Was never told “cart path only” until after paying & on 1st tee. Brutal course to walk for men in our 60’s.
Geneva National- Players
Course was in great shape tee to greens. Pace of play began slow from Group in front of us. By 3rd hole ranger pushed them ahead nicely. Pace was great after that. Ranger approached our group after hole (6) and proceeded to tell us to speed it up although the group behind us never had to wait on us for a shot. He tried to move us along several more times to the point of annoyance, while also blaming the halfway house attendant for slowing groups. Again the group behind is never waited for a shot. Saw the ranger (5) times, cart girl (2).
